Abstract

1,036,796. Check draught regulator. HENRY WILSON & CO. Ltd. April 24, 1964 [May 3, 1963], No. 17481/63. Headings F4B and F4W. A check draught regulator for a boiler flue comprises hinged dampers initially held closed by bi-metallic elements 19 against air openings 16 in the walls of a stabilizer box 14, each opening being surrounded by a soft gasket 17. The vertical limb 20 of each bi-metallic element is attached to the top plate 22 of the boiler and is vertically adjustable. The heating of the bimetallic elements by the flue gases, causes them to release the doors which are opened by the chimney pull and thus allow entry of air into the flue.
