Abstract

A method of coating an object with paint or lacquer comprising immersing the object to be coated in an aqueous bath containing a suspension of resin, to which has been added a powder of electrically conductive material, applying an electric current to produce a primary conductive coating, polymerizing this coating, e.g. by baking, and repeating this process to produce a final coating. The electrically-conductive powder added to the resin suspension may be graphite or metal powder in a proportion of 1-3% by weight of the resin suspension, which may comprise alkyde and urea or melamine resins maintained at a pH of 7.2-8.
