Abstract

1,034,257. Foresights. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. April 12, 1965 [April 16, 1964], No. 15709/64. Heading F3C. A foresight for a fire-arm comprises a screw 7 rotatably mounted in a threaded hole 6 located in a base part 2, 3 secured to the barrel 4 and a sighting element 9 projecting from and located eccentrically to the end of the screw so that on rotation of the latter the element 9 is moved vertically and laterally (when viewed along the barrel). A nylon locking plug 10 is contained in a transverse hole of the screw and engages the side of the hole 6. In another embodiment the base part having a rectangular base is brazed or cemented to the barrel and a nylon locking plug is contained in a hole in the base part so as to engage the screw.
