An on-and-off castor arrangement for a stand 1 or other furniture has castors 7 carried by bars 5 connecting parallelogram structures pivoted to the stand legs 3 and operated by levers 13 connected by a crossbar 14, an over-centre action maintaining the castors in lowered position under the weight of the stand.
