Abstract

1,033,794. Gas filters. W.MEYER, K. WOLFGANG, K. U. MEYER-RUDOLPHI and H. H. MESSNER, [trading as SCHUMACHER'SCHE FABRIK]. June 22,1964, No. 25763/64. Heading B1T. A filter candle 18 comprises a filter element 32 fitting over a carrier 26 having a rib 34 which co-operates with a resilient sealing ring 38 to secure element 32 in place when the candle projects through a hole 30 in partition 16. Partition 16 separates the inlet and outlet compartments of a filter housing (Figs. 1, 4, not shown), and various carriers 26 are urged downwards by a common pressure plate 20. Plate 20 may be spring loaded by leaf springs, spring washers or coil springs (Fig. 3, not shown). Element 32 is a bag made of metal gauze, woven fabric or inorganic and/or organic fibrous fleece. Carrier 26 may be perforated metal or plastics, porous plastics or plastics-bonded glass fibre, and rib 34 may be separate therefrom. Ring 38 may be of polygonal section to provide a face matching rib 34.
