1305374 Air filter PATENT ENTERPRISES Ltd and P V SHIPMAN 21 Jan 1970 [21 Jan 1969] 3473/69 Heading B1T [Also in Divisions F1 and F4] An air filter to purify the air in a room comprises a cylindrical filter body 4 rotated by an electric motor 2 to draw air in through its end faces and discharge the filtered air radially outwards. The air is further purified by passage outwards through fixed annular filter 13, made of active carbon granules bonded together in a cloth cover 14. Body 4 may comprise a unitary mass of fibrous or cellular material, such as resin-bonded polyamide or self-bonded acetate fibres, or a roll of cloth, or a_set of concentric abutting sleeves, or a set of abutting discs as shown. Discs 6, 7, 8 may be separated and replaced. The apparatus is free standing, and casing 11 is pivotable on stand 19, 20 (Fig. 1, not shown).
