Abstract

1,033,404. Sheet-delivery apparatus. LEIPZIGER BUCHBINDEREIMASCHINEN WERKE VEB. April 1, 1963, No. 12842/63. Heading B6H. A sheet delivery apparatus, especially for bookbinding machines having at least three horizontally disposed delivery stations D, Fig. 1, arranged side-by-side for the delivery of sheets 5 conveyed side-by-side, has a delivery bridge B for each station, the bridges diverging from the stations D to space apart the sheets being delivered. Each bridge has belts 6, Fig. 3, passing around pulleys 15 and 16, the belts being tensioned by a spring-loaded stay 9. The bridge can be pivoted or slid along a shaft 17, to suit the widths of sheets cut by rotary knives 1, 2, upon release of a knob 19 which secures a slotted bracket 10 to a rail 18. Pairs of cords 20, Fig. 4, passing around pulleys 23, 24, 25 and 26, hold sheets being delivered on the belts 5. The operative length of the cords is adjustable to suit sheets of various sizes by means of adjusting pulley 25 towards or away from pulley 24. The cords 20 may be replaced by balls, belts or rollers. Sheet metal tongues 31, Fig. 6 (not shown), are arranged between bridges B and delivery rollers 29.
