Abstract

1,033,248. Hydraulic intensifiers. E. MATHEWS ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. April 23, 1965 [May 11, 1964], No. 19557/64. Heading F1P. The smaller diameter end 18 of a stepped intensifier cylinder 11 is connected to a ram cylinder 10 and to an hydraulic fluid supply source which is also connected to the larger end 13 of the intensifier cylinder through a plunger valve which is opened against an adjustable spring 37 by the pressure build-up in the supply line; the valve plunger 28 being stopped whereby the total fluid pressure thereon is greater when open than when closed and the fluid inlet to the ram cylinder being closed prior to intensification by the end of the smaller diameter portion of the intensifier piston.
