Abstract
1,031,947. Electrostatic precipitators. HITACHI Ltd. Sept 14, 1964, No. 37519/64. Heading B2J. In an electrostatic precipitator for treating dust-laden air and consisting of an ionizing section having one or more ionizing filaments and of a collecting section, means are provided for applying pulsating voltage of high frequency of the order of 10 to 50 KC/sec. to cause corona discharge to be generated on all or each ionizing filament. The collecting section comprises high potential plate electrodes 2 and grounded plate electrodes 3, some of the latter being extended to form ionizing section with one or more ionizing filaments 1. Operating voltage is supplied through a high frequency oscillator 5 through a step-up transformer 4, the secondary winding of which is connected at one end to the filaments 1 and to the anode of a rectifier 6 and at the other end to the electrodes 2. The electrodes 3 and the cathode of the rectifier are earthed.
