Abstract

1,030,105. Lampholders. FLAGGRAND Ltd. Dec. 17, 1964 [March 11, 1964], No. 10202/64. Heading H2E. After a cable has been positioned in a recess 6 (Fig. 1) provided in a lamp holder 4, a cap 12 with a corresponding recess 13 is placed over the cable and secured to the body portion 4 by means of adhesive, or a second stage curing operation. The body portion 4 may be provided with flanges 7 to co-operate with recesses provided in the cap 12, to give a waterproof joint, and an inwardly projecting lip 11 (Fig. 3, not shown) may be provided at the open end of the body 4, to grip the lamp cap, for a similar purpose. Recesses 17 may be formed at the junction of the two parts for suspension hooks. The body portion 4 may be made of natural or synthetic rubber, or of thermoplastic material by injection or compression moulding processes, and the central portion 8 carrying the contact screws may be made of nylon. In assembling the holder the cable may be attached to the contact screws on the portion 8, before it is secured in the body 4.
