Abstract

1,029,241. Additional wheel suspensions. YORK TRAILER CO. Ltd. June 26, 1962 [March 29, 1961], No. 11447/61. Heading B7D A suspension for mounting an additional axle in a vehicle comprises a shaft 4 mounted by resilient bearings 20 in brackets 10 attached to the vehicle and having arms 2 mounted by resilient bearings 18 at its ends. An axle 1 carrying the extra wheels is carried by the arms 2 in resilient mounts 16. The arms 2 are supported on the road springs 6 by slippers 5. A radius arm 12 connected at 13 to the axle 1 is resiliently connected at 14 to the shaft 4. The additional axle may be temporary or permanent.
