Abstract

A yarn false-twist device comprises a hollow insert with a skirt from which a pair of diametrically opposed lugs extend and support the cylindrical ends of a waisted, twist-locking (or false-twisting) pin received in recesses therein so that it is perpendicular, or inclined, to the rotational axis of the insert. The ends of the pin may be secured to the lugs by adhesive, moulded therewithin, and/or supported by the curved ends of upstanding members also housed in the recesses and connected by a ring seated within the bore of the insert. The insert, which may be a moulding and/or of resiliently compressible material such as nylon, is pressed or sprung into an enlargedbore of an enlarged end portion of a tubular support member where it is retained by engagement of complementary portions of this member and the skirt (or a surrounding member integral therewith).
