Abstract

A polylefin is cross-linked by heating with a peroxide of formula <FORM:1028235/C3/1> wherein A and A1 are -CH2-CH2-, -CH=CH-, or -C=C-, and R1, R2, R3 and R4 are C1 to C3 alkyl radicals. Conventional additives such as carbon black may also be present. In the examples, polyethylene is cross-linked using 3,31,6,61,9,91,12,121-octamethyl-1,2,7,8 - tetraoxacyclododecadi - 4,10 - yne.
