Abstract

1,028,071. Stapling-machines. OFREX Ltd. March 29, 1965 [March 16, 1964], No. 10996/64. Heading B4C. A pneumatically-operated stapling tacker comprises a control valve 12 arranged to be operated as a result of limited angular movement of the staple holder 2 towards the body 1 of the tacker against the action of a spring 13, when the tacker is pressed against a workpiece. The staple holder 2 is pivoted at 3 on the body 1 and is limited in its downward movement by means of a stop 5, a gap 4 being normally provided as shown. In operation, upon pressing the nozzle 6 of the tacker against a workpiece, a bracket 11 secured to the holder 2 acts on the valve 12 so as to cause a driver 7 to insert a staple. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the bracket 22 for engaging the valve 23 is in the form of a trigger so that, if desired, the tacker may be manually actuated. In the modification, the nozzle is formed from two pieces, one piece secured to the body and the other piece to the staple holder.
