Abstract

In an activated sludge process the circulation in the clarification stage is independant of the sewage throughput. Sludge-containing water is circulated in aeration chamber 1 and transferred in controllable manner by feed means 5 to the clarification tank 3, comprising flocculation chamber 12 and secondary clarification chamber, 13 for discharge system 14. The sludge return is via connection 6.
