Abstract

1,022,774. Pneumatic tyres. PIRELLI S.p.A. April 28, 1964 [May 13, 19631, No. 17496/64. Addition to 968,257. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre as disclosed in the parent Specification is modified in that the whole of the resilient tapering strip 5 is disposed axially outwardly of the carcass ply or plies 2 and of the turn-up 4 of each ply, the strip being extended at 6 whereby it is exposed at the bead region of the tyre so as to protect the casing plies against damage by the wheel rim flange without the provision of conventional chafer strips.
