Abstract

1,021,407. Searing coils for dynamo-electric machines. BROWN, BOVERI & CO. Ltd. Aug. 4, 1964 [July 3], 1963], No. 31173/64. Heading H2A. In a high duty turbo-alternator whose stator winding coil ends 5, 6 are mechanically interconnected by spacing members 9 ... 11 and retained radially between coaxial insulating rings 15, 16, the outer ring 16 is supported in the alternator casing by wedges 24 located in recesses 25 in and equispaced around the ring the wedges being axially pressed by springs 26 located between the ring and the stator frame 29, and rollers 30 are interposed between the wedges and the ring. The rollers allow thermal expansion of the winding in the axial direction, and springs 32 on equispaced threaded rods 31 ensure the return of the components during cooling.
