Abstract

1,015,346. Feeding fibres. C. PASQUALE and A. PASQUALE [trading as R. C. M. REVISIONE CONSTRUZIONE MACCHINE]. Oct. 7, 1963 [Nov. 17,1962], No. 39458/63. Heading D1N. A hopper for storing and delivering asbestos fibres includes a frusto-pyramidal tower in which fibres are received and of which the base is formed by cylinders arranged for intermittent rotation in one direction to deliver measured quantities of fibres to an underlying conveyer. The cylinders 10, which are provided with radiol pegs, are driven from a motor 13 through a crank 19, connecting rods 20, 21 and arms 22 that operate through devices transmitting movement in one direction only. A layer of fibres at least 15-20 cms. high should be maintained at the bottom of the hopper and an opening 27 is provided for the production of such a layer when necessary. The underlying conveyer 12 carries fibres to a secondary hopper 16 in which a worm is mounted to deliver the fibres to treatment apparatus 18. Fibres are carried to the hopper in an air stream through a conduit 2 that terminates in a diffusor 4. Air is discharged through a conduit 5 and cyclone separator 6.
