1,011,784. Toilet roll holder. DRYAD METAL WORKS Ltd. Nov. 2, 1964 [Nov. 5, 1963], No. 43548/63. Heading A4G. A toilet roll holder comprises a mounting plate 1 with forwardly extending arms 1b having apertures 7, 8 into which fit trunnions 5, 6 of a spindle 4, aperture 7 and trunnion 5 being of non-circular section whereby the spindle will not rotate, and the spindle has axially spaced grooves into which fit flexible rubber-like washers 10 which frictionally engage the inside of the hollow core of the roll to exert a braking effect. The washers may be integral with the spindle, e.g. if made in plastics materal, and the spindle is in two spring-loaded parts for securing between the arms, although other methods of securing may be adopted.
