In a seat frame a U-shaped backrest frame 1 is angularly adjustable relative to a U-shaped seat frame 3 having up-turned ends to which the frame 1 is pivoted at 9, an extension 5 of the frame 1 projecting before the pivot 9 and co-operating parts 19, 15 of a screw-adjustment mechanism are mounted on the extension 5 and frame 3 respectively.
