Abstract

101,141. Simpson, J. T. Aug. 4, 1916. Locking nuts.-Relates to lock-nuts of the type made in two parts having respectively an eccentric boss and a corresponding rear so that relative movement binds them on the bolts, and consists in giving these nuts an additional locking effect by inclining their mating surfaces. As shown in Fig. 1, both the surfaces 7, 8 are inclined, but modifications are referred to in which only the mating surface 7 or 8 is inclined. In a further modification, a series of sloping surfaces may be employed.
