Abstract

1,005,426. Mathematical drawing appliances. H. HILLE, and F. HARTWICH. Aug. 23, 1962, No. 32375/62. Heading B6P. An adjustable template for drawing ellipses comprises four superposed elliptical templates 1, 2, 3, 4 of identical shape mounted between a base 5 and a head 6. Each template has a slot 7 to permit displacement; a shaft 8 of a control knob 9 passes through the slots. By displacing the templates, through rotation of knob 9, various sizes of ellipses can be drawn. A control disc 14 having arcuate slots 15 is arranged on shaft 8, the slots being engaged by pins 16 and 17 of templates 1 and 3. Recesses 18, 19a are provided for the pins 16, 17 and 19, respetively. Cut-outs such as 2d are provided in each template 1, 2, 3, 4. Lines, marked by grooves, extending through the centre are disposed at angles of about 7 and 18 degrees to act as drawing aids.
