Abstract

1,003,122. Reciprocating pumps and motors. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Jan. 26,1962 [Jan. 27, 1961], No. 3210/61. Heading F1A. In a rotary radial cylinder ball piston pump or motor cylinder liners 6 have a larger diameter portion 8 which lies in a larger diameter portion 4 of the cylinder bore. There is axial clearance between the end of the liner and the end of the cylinder bore as shown. The diameter of the portion 8 is such that it can pass through the bore 5 when the liner and cylinder are at sufficiently different temperatures. The outer end section 9, at least, is an interference fit in the cylinder bore. The liner may be of tungsten carbide. Specification 906,553 is referred to.
