Abstract

[Also in Division F4] Ventilating air enters a broiler house via an aperture adjacent the ground in a wall 9, a cavity 10 between the wall 9 and an inner skin 16, and an aperture 17 between the top of the skin 16 and the roof. Exhaust trunks (not shown) with extractor fans are provided in the roof 1. The lower aperture is covered with wire mesh 15 and has a hinged clamped 12 retained by friction stays 14. The wall 9 is of weatherboards and the inner skin 16 of insulation material 4, e.g. glass fibre, covered with ribbed aluminium sheet 5. Standard wall sections rest on concrete blocks 7 on a concrete raft 8. In buildings without cavity walls, an inner skin is fitted where necessary, e.g. between two frame uprights in a timber framed building.
