Abstract

L’invention concerne un procédé de pilotage d’un véhicule automobile (10) circulant sur une route (30), comportant : - une étape de mesure de la vitesse du véhicule automobile, et - une étape de détermination d’un critère indiquant si le véhicule automobile doit ou non être stoppé, en fonction au moins de la vitesse mesurée. Selon l’invention, le critère est déterminé en fonction également d’une donnée relative à l’environnement du véhicule automobile et, si le critère indique que le véhicule automobile doit être stoppé, le procédé de pilotage comporte une étape de calcul en boucle ouverte d’une consigne de freinage, indépendamment de toute donnée relative à d’éventuels autres véhicules automobiles situés dans l’environnement du véhicule automobile.
