Description
The present invention relates to an electro-hydraulic steering assistance system for a vehicle, in particular an electric or hybrid vehicle. It also relates to a vehicle equipped with such a system.
The field of the invention is the field of electrohydraulic power steering systems for vehicles.
Etat de la techniqueState of the art
These days, most electric vehicles are equipped with a steering assistance system for the vehicle, commonly referred to as “power steering”. The latter becomes unavoidable in the context of heavy vehicles, such as public transport vehicles of the bus type.
Electro-hydraulic steering assistance systems generally comprise a steering box, a pump supplying said steering box with hydraulic fluid from a reservoir or an expansion tank, and an electric motor actuating the pump. Generally the pump and the electric motor form a single block so that the expression motor-pump is used to designate them.
The inventors of the present invention have found that the electric motor, or the motor-pump, of power steering systems tends to heat up, which can lead to a degradation of said motor, respectively of said motor-pump, or a reduction in their efficiency. . Such degradation can have serious consequences if it occurs during use.
However, there is currently no cooling solution provided for cooling the motor, or the motor-pump, of an electrohydraulic power steering system.
An object of the present invention is to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks.
Another object of the invention is to provide an electro-hydraulic steering assistance system in which the heating of the engine is avoided or limited, or else mastered or controlled.
Another object of the invention is to propose an electro-hydraulic steering assistance system in which the heating of the engine is avoided, or limited, in a simple, inexpensive and space-saving manner, while involving few modifications.
- au moins une pompe, actionnée par ledit moteur électrique, pour alimenter ledit boitier de direction en liquide hydraulique provenant d’un conteneur ;
- at least one steering box,
- at least one electric motor, and
- at least one pump, actuated by said electric motor, to supply said steering box with hydraulic fluid coming from a container;
caractérisé en ce qu’il comprend au moins un échangeur thermique pour refroidir, au moins ledit moteur, et alimenté par au moins une partie dudit liquide hydraulique comme fluide caloporteur.characterized in that it comprises at least one heat exchanger for cooling at least said motor, and supplied with at least part of said hydraulic liquid as heat transfer fluid.
Thus, the invention proposes an electrohydraulic steering assistance system proposing cooling at least of the electric motor of said system with the hydraulic fluid used in said system. Thus, the system according to the invention makes it possible to avoid, or at least to limit, the heating of the electric motor during use of the system.
In addition, and in a particularly advantageous manner, the system according to the invention uses at least part of the hydraulic fluid as heat transfer fluid to cool the engine. It is therefore not necessary to provide a heat transfer fluid, other than the hydraulic fluid, which makes it possible to avoid the use of components dedicated to such an additional heat transfer fluid, such as a flow circuit, a tank, etc Thus, the system according to the invention makes it possible to cool the electric motor while remaining simple, inexpensive, not very complex and not bulky.
The container can be a hydraulic fluid expansion tank, or a hydraulic fluid reservoir.
According to one embodiment, at least one heat exchanger can be a heat exchanger of said electric motor.
In other words, the heat exchanger can be a heat exchanger associated with, or integrated into, the electric motor when it leaves the factory.
In this case, the system according to the invention can be arranged to supply this heat exchanger with at least part of the hydraulic fluid so that the latter is used as heat transfer fluid in the engine exchanger.
In this embodiment, the system according to the invention may not include a heat exchanger other than that which already equips the electric motor, which reduces the cost, complexity and size of the system according to the invention.
Alternatively, or in addition, at least one heat exchanger can be a heat exchanger independent of said electric motor.
In other words, the heat exchanger can be a heat exchanger which is not associated, or integrated, with the electric motor leaving the factory, and which is added within the framework of the system according to the invention.
In this case, the system according to the invention can be arranged to supply this independent heat exchanger, external to the engine, with at least part of the hydraulic fluid so that the latter is used as heat transfer fluid in the external exchanger.
In this embodiment, the system according to the invention allows cooling of the electric motor even if it is not equipped with a heat exchanger when leaving the factory.
According to one embodiment, at least one heat exchanger can be arranged in series with the pump, and/or the steering box.
In this case, the at least one heat exchanger can be arranged upstream or downstream of the pump, and/or of the steering box.
Alternatively, or in addition, at least one heat exchanger can be arranged in parallel with the pump, and/or the steering box.
According to one embodiment, at least one heat exchanger can be connected to the container by a cooling circuit entirely separate from a hydraulic circuit supplying the pump and the steering box.
In this case, it is possible to have more operating freedom for the cooling of the electric motor. For example, with this embodiment, it is possible to continue cooling the engine even when the steering assistance function is not used.
Alternatively, or in addition, at least one heat exchanger can be connected to the container by a cooling circuit, at least partly common with a hydraulic circuit supplying the pump and the steering box.
This embodiment offers greater simplicity of production because the cooling circuit is grafted onto the existing hydraulic circuit.
In this embodiment, the heat exchanger can be supplied by a conduit taking hydraulic fluid downstream of the steering box.
The fact of taking the hydraulic fluid which will be used as heat transfer fluid, downstream of the hydraulic unit, makes it possible not to disturb the function of assistance to the direction.
The fluid leaving the heat exchanger can be injected directly into the container.
Alternatively, the fluid leaving the heat exchanger can be injected into the hydraulic circuit downstream of the steering box.
Alternatively, the fluid leaving the heat exchanger can be injected into the hydraulic circuit upstream of the pump.
According to an exemplary embodiment, at least one heat exchanger can be formed by a section of hydraulic circuit connecting, between them, the steering box, the pump and the container.
To do this, said section of the hydraulic conduit can be shaped to form a coil, or similar, increasing the heat exchange surface with the electric motor.
The hydraulic fluid can be any hydraulic fluid, having a sufficient thermal conductance to carry out a thermal exchange. The greater the thermal conductance of the hydraulic fluid, the more efficient the heat exchange will be.
In particular, the hydraulic fluid may be oil.
According to an exemplary embodiment, the hydraulic fluid may be oil sold under the brand PENTOSIN CHF 11S (registered trademark).
According to another aspect of the present invention, a vehicle, in particular electric or hybrid, is provided, equipped with an electrohydraulic steering assistance system according to the invention.
The vehicle can be a heavy vehicle of the bus type for example.
Advantageously, the electrohydraulic steering assistance system can be positioned in the front part, in particular close to a front axle of said vehicle, and even more particularly under a driver's position of said vehicle.
Thus, the hydraulic circuit between the container and the steering rack shaft of the vehicle is reduced, which makes it possible to reduce the cost, complexity and hydraulic and electrical losses, and to facilitate the installation of the system in the vehicle.
According to a preferred embodiment, but in no way limiting, the vehicle according to the invention can be a bus, a car, or even an electric tram-bus.
Dans la présente demande, l’expression « véhicule lourd » désigne un véhicule routier de plus de 3,5 tonnes de poids total autorisé en charge (PTAC).In the present application, the expression "heavy vehicle" designates a road vehicle of more than 3.5 tonnes of total authorized weight in charge (PTAC).
Description des figures et modes de réalisation Furthermore, the expression “tram-bus” designates a land-based public transport electric vehicle mounted on wheels and which is recharged at each station, so as not to require heavy infrastructure such as rails, catenaries, on the road. Such an electric vehicle is recharged at each station by means of station charging elements and a connector connecting said vehicle to said station.

In the figures, the elements common to several figures retain the same reference.
La FIGURE 1 est une représentation schématique d’un premier exemple de réalisation non-limitatif d’un système électrohydraulique d’assistance à la direction selon l’invention.FIGURE 1 is a schematic representation of a first non-limiting embodiment of an electrohydraulic steering assistance system according to the invention.
According to a conventional operation, the pump 106 is actuated by the electric motor 104 to supply the steering box 102 with a hydraulic fluid 108 coming from a container 110, which can be for example an expansion tank or a reservoir.
Le liquide hydraulique est de l’huile.Hydraulic fluid is oil.
The hydraulic fluid 108 is taken from the container 110 by an upstream hydraulic conduit 112 connecting said container 110 to the pump 106. The hydraulic fluid leaving the pump 106 supplies the steering box 102 through an intermediate hydraulic conduit 114. Finally, the hydraulic fluid leaving the steering box 102 is returned to the container 110 by a downstream hydraulic conduit 116 connecting the steering box 102 to the container 110.
Les conduits 112-116 forment donc un circuit hydraulique. The conduits 112-116 therefore form a hydraulic circuit.
The system 100, shown in FIGURE 1, further includes a heat exchanger 120, using at least a portion of the hydraulic fluid as heat transfer fluid, to cool the electric motor 104.
To do this, the system 100 comprises a first section of conduit 122 taking hydraulic fluid, from the hydraulic circuit 118, downstream of the steering box 102, on the downstream hydraulic conduit 116 to supply the heat exchanger 120. The hydraulic fluid , used as heat transfer fluid, leaving the exchanger 120, is reinjected into the hydraulic circuit 118, upstream of the pump 106, that is to say in the upstream pipe 112, by a second pipe section 124.
The heat exchanger 120 may be a radiator integrated/associated with the electric motor 104 leaving the factory, and in particular may consist of a circuit internal to said motor 104.
Alternatively, the heat exchanger 120 can be a radiator independent of the electric motor 104 and coupled to the electric motor 104, a posteriori for the needs of the system according to the invention.
The heat exchanger 120 can be formed by a coil, or similar, produced by modeling a single cooling duct constituting the cooling circuit 126 and comprising the sections 122 and 124.
In the system 100, the heat exchanger 120 is therefore mounted in parallel with the pump 106 and the steering box 102, and is crossed by the hydraulic fluid in the opposite direction.
La FIGURE 2 est une représentation schématique d’un deuxième exemple de réalisation non-limitatif d’un système électrohydraulique d’assistance à la direction selon l’invention.FIGURE 2 is a schematic representation of a second non-limiting embodiment of an electrohydraulic steering assistance system according to the invention.
Le système 200, représenté sur la FIGURE 2, comprend tous les éléments du système 100 de la FIGURE 1.System 200, shown in FIGURE 2, includes all of the elements of system 100 in FIGURE 1.
More particularly, in the system 200 of FIGURE 2, the heat exchanger 120 is supplied with hydraulic fluid by the second section 124, taking said hydraulic fluid from the upstream hydraulic conduit 112. The hydraulic fluid, used as heat transfer fluid in the exchanger 120 and leaving said exchanger 120, is reinjected into the hydraulic circuit 118, downstream of the steering box 102, by the first section of conduit 122.
In the system 200, the heat exchanger 120 is therefore mounted in parallel with the pump 106 and the steering box 102, and is crossed by the hydraulic fluid in the same direction. In this embodiment, it may be necessary to use a means (not shown), such as a pump, to circulate the hydraulic fluid in the cooling circuit 126, due to the differences that may exist between the pressure downstream of the steering box 102 and the pressure upstream of the pump 106.
La FIGURE 3 est une représentation schématique d’un troisième exemple de réalisation non-limitatif, particulièrement préféré, d’un système électrohydraulique d’assistance à la direction selon l’invention.FIGURE 3 is a schematic representation of a third, non-limiting, particularly preferred embodiment of an electro-hydraulic steering assistance system according to the invention.
Le système 300, représenté sur la FIGURE 3, comprend tous les éléments du système 100 de la FIGURE 1.System 300, shown in FIGURE 3, includes all of the elements of system 100 in FIGURE 1.
Dans le système 300, le sens de circulation du fluide hydraulique dans le circuit de refroidissement 126 est identique à celui du système 100.In system 300, the direction of flow of hydraulic fluid in cooling circuit 126 is identical to that of system 100.
A la différence du système 100, dans le système 300 de la FIGURE 3, le liquide hydraulique, utilisé comme fluide caloporteur dans l’échangeur thermique 120 et sortant dudit échangeur thermique 120 n’est pas réinjecté dans le circuit hydraulique 118 par le tronçon de conduit 122Unlike the system 100, in the system 300 of FIGURE 3, the hydraulic liquid, used as heat transfer fluid in the heat exchanger 120 and leaving said heat exchanger 120 is not reinjected into the hydraulic circuit 118 by the section of leads 122
En effet, dans le système 300, le tronçon de conduit 124 est relié directement au conteneur 110 et réinjecte le liquide hydraulique sortant de l’échangeur thermique 120 dans ledit conteneur 110.Indeed, in the system 300, the section of conduit 124 is directly connected to the container 110 and reinjects the hydraulic fluid leaving the heat exchanger 120 into said container 110.
La FIGURE 4 est une représentation schématique d’un quatrième exemple de réalisation non-limitatif d’un système électrohydraulique d’assistance à la direction selon l’invention.FIGURE 4 is a schematic representation of a fourth non-limiting embodiment of an electrohydraulic steering assistance system according to the invention.
Le système 400, représenté sur la FIGURE 4, comprend tous les éléments du système 300 de la FIGURE 3.System 400, shown in FIGURE 4, includes all of the elements of system 300 in FIGURE 3.
Ainsi, la totalité du fluide hydraulique sortant du boîtier de direction 102 traverse l’échangeur thermique 120.Unlike the system 300, in the system 400 of FIGURE 4, the downstream hydraulic conduit 116 is not connected to the container 110, but only to the conduit section 122. Thus, all of the hydraulic fluid exiting the steering box 102 passes through the heat exchanger 120.
In this embodiment, the conduit section 122 and the downstream hydraulic conduit can be made with a single conduit.
La FIGURE 5 est une représentation schématique d’un cinquième exemple de réalisation non-limitatif d’un système électrohydraulique d’assistance à la direction selon l’invention.FIGURE 5 is a schematic representation of a fifth non-limiting embodiment of an electrohydraulic steering assistance system according to the invention.
Le système 500, représenté sur la FIGURE 5, comprend tous les éléments du système 400 de la FIGURE 4.System 500, shown in FIGURE 5, includes all of the elements of system 400 in FIGURE 4.
Ainsi, le liquide hydraulique utilisé comme liquide caloporteur, et alimentant l’échangeur thermique 120, est prélevé directement depuis le conteneur 110.In the system 500 of FIGURE 5, unlike the system 400, the first section of conduit 122 supplying the heat exchanger 120, is directly connected to the container 110, and not to a conduit of the hydraulic circuit 118. Thus, the hydraulic liquid used as heat transfer liquid, and supplying the heat exchanger 120, is taken directly from the container 110.
In this embodiment, it may be necessary to additionally use a means, such as a pump, to circulate the hydraulic fluid in the cooling circuit 126.
La FIGURE 6 est une représentation schématique partielle d’un véhicule selon l’invention.FIGURE 6 is a partial schematic representation of a vehicle according to the invention.
The vehicle 600 shown in FIGURE 6 is an electric bus comprising rechargeable electricity storage modules (not shown), each module possibly comprising one or more batteries or one or more supercapacitors.
The system 602 is arranged in the vehicle in the front part of the vehicle 600, for example under a cockpit 604 of the vehicle 600, and/or in the immediate vicinity of a directional front axle 606 of the vehicle 600.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples detailed above. For example, the invention is not limited to buses and can for example be applied to coaches, tram-buses and other heavy land vehicles for public transport on the road, of the coach type.
In addition, the system according to the invention may comprise more than one heat exchanger, and/or electric motor and/or pump.
