L'invention concerne un procédé de pilotage d'un véhicule automobile comportant des roues, un moteur électrique couplé aux roues et un système de freinage des roues, comprenant des étapes : - d'acquisition de la vitesse (V1) du véhicule automobile, - d'acquisition de la position d'un levier de vitesse équipant le véhicule automobile, - d'acquisition d'une instruction d'accélération relative à la position de ou à l'effort exercé sur une pédale d'accélérateur équipant le véhicule automobile, et - d'élaboration d'une consigne de pilotage du moteur électrique en fonction de la position du levier de vitesse et de l'instruction d'accélération.
