Description
The present invention relates to the field of rolling bearings, in particular those used in clutch release devices designed to act on the diaphragm of a clutch, in particular to motor vehicle. Such devices comprise a rolling bearing of which one of the rings is rotating and the other is fixed, the rotating ring being provided with a radial engagement surface intended to come into contact with the end of the fingers of the diaphragm of the clutch. A non-rotating operating element supports the rolling bearing and, under the action of a control member (mechanical, electrical or hydraulic), axially moves the bearing to press the driving surface of the rotating ring against the diaphragm of the clutch and operate the clutch mechanism. In order to limit the frictional wear between the fingers of the diaphragm and the rotating race during disengagement and clutch maneuvers, it is possible to fix on the rotating race a wear ring of synthetic material. For more details on such a wear ring, one can for example refer to the patent application FR-A1-2 883 347. In the bearing described in this prior document, a flange crimped on the rotating ring is provided for ensure the retention of the wear ring on said ring. However, this solution has the disadvantage of increasing the number of bearing components to manufacture, store and assemble. The present invention aims to remedy this disadvantage. More particularly, the present invention aims to provide a rolling bearing for a clutch release device having a reduced number of components and easy to manufacture. In one embodiment, the rolling bearing comprises an inner ring, an outer ring, at least one row of rolling elements arranged inside a running space delimited between said rings, and a ring of wear fixed on one of said rings and comprising a body bearing against an outer face of said ring. The wear ring further comprises at least one stud extending from the body and through a through recess formed in the thickness of said ring. The wear ring also comprises at least one bead extending from said pad and obtained by local plastic deformation of said pad. Said bead extends inside the running space and comes opposite an inner face of said ring opposite to the outer face. The bead facing the inner face of the outer ring promotes the attachment of the wear ring relative to said outer ring. The bead forms a means of retaining the wear ring on the outer ring. The attachment of the wear ring on said ring is obtained without the use of additional additional means reported. In a preferred embodiment, said bead abuts against the inner face of said ring. Thus, the risk of relative displacement between the wear ring and said ring is limited.
Preferably, said bead extends over the entire periphery of said stud. In one embodiment, said bead is mounted axially facing the inner face of said ring. Said through recess may be formed in a radial portion of said ring.
In one embodiment, the inner face of said ring locally comprises at least one notch against which said bead comes opposite. This limits the portion of the bead extending projecting from the inner face of said ring. The wear ring may further include a centering portion extending axially inwardly of the body and provided with a radial contacting surface with said ring. In one embodiment, the wear ring comprises a plurality of studs extending from the body and each extending through a clean through recess which is formed in the thickness of said ring, each stud comprising at least one bead obtained by local plastic deformation of said pad. The wear ring can be made in one piece in a synthetic material.
The recess 30 of the outer ring is through. The recess 30 is formed in the thickness of the outer ring 16. The recess 30 extends from the outer face 28 of the outer ring and opens on an inner face 32 of said ring opposite the outer face. The inner face 32 of the outer ring 16 is oriented towards the inside of the bearing, i.e. on the side of the rolling elements 18. The outer 28 and inner 32 faces define the thickness of the outer ring. The inner face 32 is formed by the inner surface of the outer ring. The inner face 32 is formed by the inner surface of the different portions 16a to 16d of the outer ring. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated, the recess 30 is formed through the radial portion 16d of the outer ring. The recess 30 here has a cylindrical shape. Alternatively, the recess may have other shapes, for example polygonal such as square, rectangular, etc. The recess may also have a conical shape flaring towards the running space 24. The wear ring 26 further comprises a bead 26c lateral extending the pad 26b and mounted opposite the inner face 32 of the outer ring. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated, the stud 26b abuts against the inner face 32. The bead 26c extends over the entire periphery of the stud 26b. The bead 26c forms an annular collar extending circumferentially along the stud 26b. Alternatively, the bead 26c may be discontinuous in the circumferential direction el.
The bead 26c extends inside the running space 24 delimited between the rings 14, 16. The bead 26c extends radially. The bead 26c comes axially in abutment against the inner face 32. The bead 26c comes here axially bearing against the inner face 32 of the radial portion 16d. In the exemplary embodiment illustrated, an annular notch 34 is formed on the inner face 32 of the radial portion 16d against the bottom of which axially abuts the bead 26c. The notch 34 may for example be formed by countersinking. As will be described in more detail below, the bead 26c is obtained by local plastic deformation of the pad 26b. The bead 26c and the pad 26b are integral with the body 26a, i.e. made in one piece. The wear ring 26 also includes an annular centering portion 26d extending inwardly the body 26a and provided to center said wear ring relative to the outer ring 16. The centering portion 26d of shape annular axially extends the body 26a. The centering portion 26d extends a small diameter edge of the body 26a. The centering portion 26d is centered in the bore of the outer ring 16. The centering portion 26d has an outer surface in radial contact with said bore. The centering portion 26d is mounted in the bore of the radial portion 16d of the outer ring. To fix the wear ring 26 on the outer ring 16, the procedure is as follows. In a first step, the wear ring 26 is brought into abutment against the external face 28 of the outer ring as shown in FIG. 2. This assembly in contact is effected by simple axial thrust. At this stage, the wear ring 26 obtained beforehand by molding is devoid of the bead 26c (FIG. 1). In this position, the stud 26b extends inside the recess 30 of the outer ring and axially projecting inside the ring. Then, in a second step, the pad 26b is heated on the opposite side to the body 26a. Then, in a third step, the bead 26c is formed by plastic deformation of the free end of the stud 26b. During this step, a portion of the material of the stud 26b is pushed back to cause a flow of material axially against the inner face 32 of the radial portion 16d of the outer ring and radially outwardly. This causes a shape interference preventing a displacement of the wear ring 26 relative to the outer ring 5 16. The material deformation of the stud 26b is by axial thrust. The bead 26c is formed by hot riveting. The bead 26c cooperating with the inner face 32 of the outer ring promotes anti-extraction of the wear ring 26 relative to said outer ring. The bead 26c forms an axial retention means 10 of the wear ring on the outer ring 16. The bead 26c cooperates with the outer ring 16 by diametrical interference. The wear ring 26 is fixed on the outer ring 16 via a means integrated in said wear ring. The exemplary embodiment illustrated in FIG. 3, in which the identical elements bear the same references, differs from the first example described in that the wear ring comprises an annular centering portion 26 extending axially inwardly large diameter edge of the body 26a. The centering portion 26e is centered on the outer face 28 of the outer ring. The centering portion 26e has an inner surface in radial contact with the outer face 28. The centering portion 26d radially surrounds the axial portion 16c of the outer ring. In this embodiment, the wear ring 26 comprises a recess 36 formed from the free end of the stud 26b and oriented axially on the inner side of the bearing, ie towards the rolling elements 18. wear ring 26 on the outer ring 16, the procedure is analogous to that described above. After having brought the wear ring 26 against the outer face 28 of the outer ring as illustrated in FIG. 4, the pad 26b without bead 26c (FIG. 3) is heated on the opposite side to the body 26a. Then, the bead 26c is formed by plastic deformation of the free end of the stud 26b by axial thrust. The recess 36 provided on the pad 26b makes it possible to reduce the quantity of material to be plastically deformed and the duration of the manufacturing process. The fixing of the wear ring 26 on the outer ring 16 is obtained by a step of deformation and hot creep, for example by riveting or by ultrasonic welding of the bead 26c on said outer ring. In the embodiments described, the bead of the wear ring 5 abuts against the inner face of the outer ring. Alternatively, it could be possible to provide a bead facing the inner face of the outer ring leaving a slight clearance between them. In the exemplary embodiments illustrated, the wear ring 10 comprises a stud extending axially through a recess formed on a radial portion of the outer ring. Alternatively, the stud could extend radially from the body of the wear ring and into a recess formed through an axial portion of the outer ring.
In the described exemplary embodiments, the wear ring comprises a single stud. Alternatively, the wear ring may comprise a plurality of studs extending from the body, located in the same radial plane and preferably spaced regularly relative to each other in the circumferential direction. Each stud extends through a recess of its own formed on the outer ring. Preferably, each roll comprises a bead obtained by local plastic deformation of said pad. The invention has been illustrated on the basis of a rolling bearing in which the wear ring is fixed on the outer ring. Alternatively, the wear ring may be attached to the inner ring when said inner ring is rotated.
