Description
OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to the field of protective devices for protecting a gas cylinder valve for liquefied, dissolved or compressed gases. Specifically, it relates to an open cap of gas cylinder protection. PRIOR STATE OF THE ART During the transport or handling of a gas cylinder, the valve of the bottle is susceptible to shocks that may damage it. To avoid this, the gas cylinders are equipped with a safety device called open or closed protection cap, to protect the valve during handling and transport steps. Once used, the empty gas cylinders are manually loaded into pallet bins and transported to a factory for refilling. Because of the large weight of the bottles, the upper corners of the pallet racks comprise most of the time corner reinforcements to strengthen their structure, as described in the document FR2707955. The presence of corner reinforcements makes it necessary to adapt the dimensions of the protective caps, so that a gas cylinder equipped with a protective cap can not hit the corner reinforcements when loading and unloading the pallet rack. . Protective caps must also comply with ISO 11117, according to which a protective cap mounted on a gas cylinder must protrude by a minimum height from the valve in the open position, in order to prevent any shock likely to damage it. In order to meet these two criteria, the protective caps are mainly elongated and narrow.
In filling plants, filling bottles and encapsulating their faucets is done automatically. However, PLCs dedicated to these tasks need a minimum space to operate around the valve of the bottle. At present, there is an incompatibility between the constraints related to filling and those related to the shape of the bins.
In practice, there are two cases. In the first case, the caps are of sufficient size to allow access to the filling devices but too bulky to allow automated loading and unloading without risk of falling. In the other case, the caps are of insufficient size to allow filling by any controller but adapted to allow loading and unloading without incident. Therefore, after the loading and unloading of the bottles of the pallet racks, the protective cap of each gas cylinder must be disassembled before the introduction of the bottles into the filling line. The protective caps must then be reassembled on the bottles after the step of encapsulation of the valve (see for example the document FR2658587). These steps of assembly and disassembly of the protective cap on the gas cylinders have the disadvantages of being delicate to achieve and time consuming. The present application therefore aims to develop an open protective cap to, in combination: - protect the valve of a gas cylinder during handling and transport of the bottle, preferably in accordance with ISO 11117 ; - Allow sufficient access around the tap, so that a PLC can fill the bottle and / or encapsulate its valve without the need to disassemble the cap; - Ensure a minimum footprint of the cap so as to be compatible with the structure of current pallet racks, particularly because of the presence of corner reinforcements, during loading and unloading of the bottle.
OF THE INVENTION The purpose of the present invention is to simultaneously remedy the drawbacks mentioned above by proposing an open cap designed to: protect the valve during the handling, transport and storage of the bottle; - Bring the bottle from the rack, continuously, to the filling mat without dropping it; - Do not disassemble the cap to allow a PLC to fill the bottle and / or encapsulate its valve.
The subject of the invention is thus an open cap for protecting a gas cylinder valve, comprising a base comprising a first opening intended to allow the passage of the valve of the gas cylinder, and a vertical wall arranged on a part of the periphery. of the base.
The cap is characterized in that the vertical wall has, at at least one of its ends, a reinforcement in the form of a pillar of thickness and height greater than those of the wall.
Preferably, the vertical wall has at least 3 reinforcements. At least one of these reinforcements is arranged at one end of the wall. The others are distributed around the circumference so as to allow: - on the one hand, the access to the valve to an automaton to fill the bottle and / or to encapsulate its valve, - on the other hand to ensure the respect of the norm IS011117. In a preferred embodiment, the wall is formed of two identical portions positioned opposite one another. Advantageously, each portion has a reinforcement at each of its ends. Therefore, the two walls are separated from each other by at least one opening defining a passage having several possible functions. It allows the passage of the filling rod, as well as that of the tool described next for securing the cap on the bottle. To allow storage of the bottles in the current bins, the vertical wall and the (s) reinforcement have at their upper end, an inclined pan forming an obtuse angle with their outer face. The inner face of the vertical wall designates the face opposite the tap, once the cap is placed on the bottle. Conversely, the outer face designates the face opposite to the inner face. The particular shape of the upper end of the vertical wall and reinforcements advantageously makes it possible to optimize the bulk of the bottles in the pallet rack. Thus, during the loading and unloading of the bottle, the risk of damage, of one or more corner reinforcements present in the upper corners of the rack by the cap, are avoided. In the same way and above all, the bottles at the time of filling can be unloaded from the pallet rack, continuously, without risk of falling. The inclined pan may be flat, that is to say, have a regular slope. The inclined and the vertical wall can then form an obtuse angle whose value is less than 180 °, preferably equal to 135 °. According to an alternative embodiment, the inclined pan may be of convex or concave shape. According to the present application, the inclined section delimits a second opening facing the base, adapted to allow the passage of a device or a controller for filling the bottle and / or the encapsulation of its valve. In practice, the cap is dimensioned both to adapt to the largest automata on the market and to comply with the IS011117 standard. To comply with the IS011117 standard, the protective caps must have a vertical wall exceeding the minimum height of the valve in the open position. The height of the vertical wall of the cap can not be less than the height of the valve assembled on the bottle and is preferably between 90 and 102 mm.
According to another characteristic, the lower part of the base intended to be vis-à-vis the bottle once the cap is in place, is inclined at an angle less than 90 ° and preferably 30 °. This allows the reading of mandatory regulatory texts, engraved, marked or glued on the bottle.
According to another characteristic, the cap has a means of securing to the bottle. In a first embodiment, the securing means is in the form of a screw thread arranged on the internal face of the opening of the base, adapted to cooperate with a screw pitch arranged near the tap of the bottle. To maintain solidarity together, the threads can be glued.
In an improved embodiment, to guarantee the inviolability, the securing means further comprises: - a toothed ring arranged all around the opening of the base on its upper face, - a collar comprising o a screw thread , intended to cooperate with the thread of the bottle, o a notched flange intended to cooperate with the notched crown to act as a counter nut.
To allow gripping of the bottle, the two distinct sections of the aforementioned wall are connected by a rod acting as a handle. The cap according to the invention may be manufactured with at least one of the following materials: polymeric resin or metal, preferably a polymeric resin of the family of polypropylenes or polyamide The present application also relates to a gas cylinder provided with a hat as described above. The protective cap is held on the gas cylinder so that the vertical wall protects the valve of the bottle during handling, transportation and storage. The gas cylinder may contain LPG (butane propane or technical gas). SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES The ways of carrying out the invention, as well as the advantages which result therefrom, will emerge from the description of the embodiments which follow, in support of the appended figures in which: FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic section of FIG. face showing an embodiment of the invention; Figure 2 is a schematic sectional view showing the embodiment of the invention of Figure 1 mounted on a gas cylinder; Figure 3 is a schematic front view showing the example of Figure 2 in a pallet rack; Figure 4 is a schematic top view showing an embodiment of the invention; Figure 5 is a schematic front view showing the use of a tool around the valve of a gas cylinder provided with the cap of the invention; FIG. 6 is a schematic face section showing an example embodiment of the invention comprising an intermediate collar used in combination with the aforementioned tool; - Figure 7 is a schematic top view showing an automaton present at the valve of a gas cylinder provided with the invention. Embodiment of the invention As already explained above, the invention relates to an open cap of protection for a gas cylinder, complying with the IS011117 standard while allowing easier access to the valve of a gas cylinder, and limiting the risk of damage to corner reinforcements of pallet racks and falling bottles during transport and loading and unloading. Figures 1 to 7 show non-limiting embodiments of the invention.
An open protective cap (1) according to the invention comprises a base (2) comprising a first opening (3) intended to allow the passage of a valve (4) of a gas cylinder (5) (FIGS. and 2). The first opening comprises a screw thread (6), adapted to cooperate with a thread (7) present on the bottle, to ensure the maintenance of the cap thereon. The cap has a vertical wall (8) arranged on all or part of the periphery of the base (2) (Figure 1). The vertical wall (8) comprises an outer face (8A) and an inner face (8B). The vertical wall has at its upper end (9) a pan (10) inclined towards the inside (11) of the cap. The panel (10) delimits a second opening (12) facing the base. The dimensions of the cap are chosen so that when it is mounted on a gas cylinder (5), the upper end (9) of the vertical wall (8) exceeds the valve (4) of the bottle in the open position (Figure 2). The height (H) of the cap can be between 90 and 102 mm (Figure 1). In other words, the height (H) of the open protective cap is chosen so as to comply with the IS011117 standard. The panel (10) forms an inclined plane so as to form with the outer face (8A) of the vertical wall (8) an obtuse angle of 135 °. In other words, the panel (10) is inclined inward (11) of the cap so that the vertical wall (8) forms a tip at its upper end (9) (Figure 3). The value of this angle is preferably chosen so that the pan (10) is parallel or substantially parallel to the corner reinforcements (13) of a pallet rack (14). This offers the advantage of minimizing the distance separating the gusset (13) from the pan (10), while limiting the risk of damage to the corner reinforcements by the bottle capped with its cap. It is thus possible to increase the perimeter of the vertical wall (8) in order to increase the volume of the open protective cap. In this way, it is possible to clear a larger space around the tap (4) (FIG. 2). The advantage is that the bottles can be unloaded from the pallet without risk of falling. Preferably, the value of this angle is 135 ° because this value corresponds to the angle formed by the corner reinforcements (13) with the vertical bars (15) of the pallet rack (14). According to another characteristic, the lower part (16) of the base (2) intended to be vis-à-vis the bottle once the cap is in place, is inclined at an angle of 30 °. This allows the reading of mandatory regulatory texts, engraved, marked or glued on the bottle. The vertical wall (8) is discontinuous so as to delimit two identical elements (8C) positioned one facing each other, comprising at their free end four reinforcements (17) (Figure 4). The reinforcements are evenly distributed along the base (2). Reinforcements as their name suggests strengthen the mechanical structure of the invention so as to meet the IS011117 standard. They have a triangular section and have an upper end like the rest of the wall.
The wall portions (8C) define openings (18, 20). To allow gripping of the bottle, a handle (19) connects two reinforcements (17) (Figures 4 and 5). Advantageously, the openings define passages through the vertical wall, which can advantageously allow another access to the valve (4) and the tool (21) for the introduction of the collar (22) described below (FIG. 5). Figure 6 shows more particularly a cap comprising a securing means for irreversibly holding the cap on a bottle. The securing means comprises a collar (22) comprising a screw thread (23) intended to cooperate with the screw thread (7) of the bottle (5) in the manner of a locknut. To ensure irreversible retention of the collar on the bottle, the securing means comprises a toothed ring (24) arranged around the first opening (3) on the visible face (25) of the base (2). The notched crown is intended to cooperate with the intermediate collar to not allow its disassembly by the end user.
Enfin, l'encombrement du chapeau est tel qu'il évite tout risque de chute de la bouteille eu moment du chargement et déchargement automatique depuis le casier.FIG. 7 represents a gas cylinder (5) provided with a cap according to the invention, during a step of encapsulation of its valve by an automaton (26) (the valve is not represented in FIG. 7 for the sake of clarity). The second opening (12) allows the controller (26) to access the valve without the need to disassemble the open protective cap (1). It should be noted that the cavities (16) advantageously make it possible to leave sufficient space inside the open protective cap to enable the automaton to perform its task. This example shows another advantage of the invention which is to allow the filling of the gas cylinder and / or the encapsulation of its faucet by automata, without the need to disassemble the cap. This saves time and saves money in the filling line. Another advantage of the invention is also to ensure the protection of the valve of the bottle on the chain, which was previously not always possible for the reasons mentioned above. The present application therefore proposes an open protection cap complying with the IS011117 standard. The shape of the cap advantageously allows the transport of gas cylinders in pallet bins, without risk of damaging the corner reinforcements located in the upper corners of the bins. The shape of the cap concomitantly allows clear enough space around the valve of the gas cylinder to allow its filling and / or the encapsulation of its valve by automata, without the need to disassemble the cap. Finally, the size of the cap is such that it avoids any risk of falling from the bottle at the time of loading and unloading automatically from the rack.
