Description
The present invention relates to the thermal protection of industrial installations. The nuclear industry is a particularly concerned industry, but it is not the only one.
The method according to the invention relates to thermal protection around heat-conducting members, for example metal pipes, extending in contiguous spaces separated by one or more walls. There may be an abnormal rise in temperature in one of these spaces, caused for example by a fire. The purpose of the thermal protection in question here is to limit the propagation of the temperature rise in an adjoining space separated by a wall, even though one or more heat conducting members, for example metal pipes pass through this wall. The safety requirements to take into account this type of risk are typically that in case of temperature rise up to a given value (representative for example of a fire scenario) in the first space, the temperature remains lower. at a determined threshold in the second space after a determined time, or that the temperature of the accessible portion in the second space of the conductive element remains below a determined threshold after a predetermined time. Traditionally, a requirement of this type is taken into account by arranging a thermally insulating cover around each conductive member. This must be relatively long to reduce the surface of pipe radiating heat. This results in a significant size of the insulating lining. In addition, the thermal insulation of the pipe, by limiting the radial propagation of heat, promotes its propagation along the pipe. The thermal protection offered is therefore mediocre, the hot radiant zone of the pipe being simply pushed a little further from the partition. The present invention aims to address these security requirements more satisfactorily. To this end, the invention proposes a method of placing a thermal protection lining on a heat conductive member passing through a wall, the method comprising: - receiving the thermal protection lining comprising a first permeable face, a second impervious face opposite the first face and a thermal insulator between the first and second faces; and - assembling the thermal protection lining on the heat conductive member against the wall, so that the thermal protection lining surrounds a portion of the heat conductive member with the first face in contact with the heat conductive member , the assembly being made with an adhesive comprising active elements capable of releasing water during a rise in temperature. This solution allows the absorption of a portion of the heat from the heat conducting member. There is no longer just an insulating element to thwart the spread of heat; some of this heat is dissipated in the packing by the vaporization of the water released by the glue in case of abnormal rise in temperature. The thermal protection liner can be of simple design and reduced size.
A significant advantage of the method is that the length of the conductive member which needs to be covered with the lining at the exit of the wall can be reduced, in any case much smaller than if the lining were simply insulating, at a comparable level of protection. The thickness of the filling may also be limited. This saving of space is very appreciable in confined environments. In one embodiment, the first and second faces of the thermal protection liner form a pocket. The thermal insulation can then be inserted into this pocket. The structure of the thermal protection lining is organized to be prefabricated, thus allowing operators to pause more easily and more quickly on the heat conducting member.
The second face advantageously comprises a first portion forming, with the first face, the pocket and a second portion that can form a flap. The method may then comprise, during the assembly step, the bonding of the flap to a portion of the first portion of the second face.
According to one embodiment, the thermal protection lining is substantially flat in shape before assembly, thus facilitating its packaging and transport. In an advantageous embodiment, the method comprises, during the assembly step, the application of the adhesive on the assembly of the first permeable face of the thermal protection lining. Glue may also be applied to a portion of the heat conducting member during the assembly step. In one embodiment, the first face of the thermal protection liner comprises honeycomb fabric. This fabric allows uniform gluing and the diffusion of the glue and / or the water it releases towards the insulation. To improve the insulation of the heat conducting member, an insulating joint may be provided between the heat conducting member and the thermal protection lining and / or between the wall and said thermal protection lining. Another aspect of the invention relates to a thermal protection liner for carrying out the foregoing process. This lining comprises: a first permeable face; a second impervious face opposite the first face; and a thermal insulator housed between the first and second faces, capable of absorbing an adhesive comprising active elements capable of releasing water during a rise in temperature. Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge during the following description of one of its embodiments, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. a sectional view of a diagram showing a thermal protection lining assembled on a heat conducting pipe; - Figure 2 is a perspective view of the liner in place on the pipe; and FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the prefabricated thermal protection lining prior to its assembly on the heat conducting member. In the different figures, the same references designate identical or similar elements. During an abnormal rise in temperature in a first space 3, the role of the thermal protection proposed here is to limit, or to delay, the propagation of the temperature rise in an adjacent space 4 separated by a wall 2, while even one or more heat conducting members 1, for example metal pipes, pass through this wall 2. According to the invention, a thermal protection lining 5 is assembled on each of the heat conducting members 1, in order to isolate and absorbing a portion of the heat from this member 1. The heat conducting member 1 is, in the non-limiting example illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, a metal pipe of annular section. FIG. 1 shows the gasket 5 assembled on a portion of the heat conducting member 1 connecting the spaces 3 and 4. The gasket 5 is in contact with the wall 2. The wall 2 can be a partition, a floor, a ceiling or any other wall separating two distinct spaces. The prefabricated packing 5, shown in perspective in FIG. 3 before being assembled on a portion of the pipe 1, comprises a first face 6, a second face 7 and a thermal insulator 8. The lining 5 has, in this example, a shape general of parallelepiped. This substantially flat shape before assembly allows it to be easily stored flat. The first face 6 is flexible and permeable. It may advantageously be composed of fabric and more particularly of honeycomb fabric. It has a surface 51 of general shape, for example, substantially rectangular.
Le rabat 10 est adapté pour améliorer le maintien de la garniture 5 autour du tuyau 1.The second face 7 is flexible and impervious and is, for example composed of a coated fabric. Said coated fabric which may be, for example, a nylon or polyester fabric coated with silicone. It has a surface S2 larger than S1 and generally rectangular shape. The first and second faces 6 and 7 are located opposite each other. The thermal insulation 8 is located between the first and second faces 6 and 7. It is adapted to allow good thermal insulation by reducing the radial heat leaks from the pipe 1. The insulation 8 is, for example, composed of mineral wool, cellulose wadding or any other material with low thermal conductivity. It has, for example, a general shape of parallelepiped rectangle of thickness e. The first face 6 and the second face 7 of the liner 5 are secured to one another, for example by sewing at least a portion of the edges of the first face 6 on the second face 7 or vice versa. Alternatively, at least one of the edges 6 'and 7' of the first and second faces 6 and 7 is free. The first and second faces 6 and 7 thus form a pocket 9 in which the insulator 8 is slid. In addition, the surface S2 comprises a flexible portion that does not face the surface S1 and that folds to form a flap 10. The flap 10 is adapted to improve the maintenance of the lining 5 around the pipe 1.
In the example presented, the surface S2 is decomposed between a first portion S2 'and a second portion S2 "The first portion S2' forms, with the surface S1, the pocket 9 housing the insulator 8. The second portion S2" forms the flap 10. After insertion of the insulator 8 in the pocket 9, the insulator 8 is covered on a first face 11 and on a first edge 12 by the first face 6 permeable. The face 11 and the edge 12 are intended to be oriented towards the inside, that is to say respectively towards the pipe 1 and towards the wall 2. In addition, the insulator 8 is covered on a second face 13 and on a second edge 14 by the second impervious face 7, the face 13 and the edge 14 being intended to be oriented outwards (Figure 1). The lining 5 can be prefabricated in advance at the factory and be adapted to the dimensions of the pipe to be fitted 1. The liner 5 is secured to the wall 2 and to a portion of the pipe 1 by gluing. The bonding is performed using an adhesive comprising active elements capable of releasing water during a rise in temperature. This results in an endothermic process when the temperature rises. At room temperature, the water remains bound by the active elements of the glue. Under the action of a rise in temperature, the water is released at about 80 ° C, for example. As the temperature reaches 100 ° C., the water released is vaporized, thus absorbing part of the heat coming from space 3. A refractory glue of the type described in French Patent No. 2,701,850 is well suited to this application, without that this is limiting. To achieve the assembly of the lining 5 on a portion of the pipe 1, the operator spreads, preferably uniformly, glue on the whole of the first face 6. The composition of the first face 6, honeycomb fabric, allows a uniform and easy gluing using, for example, a spatula or a brush. In addition, the first face 6 makes it possible to apply the glue without damaging the insulation 8 and allows the glue to migrate into the insulation 8. It is also possible to glue the portion of the pipe 1 intended to be covered by the lining 5. After gluing, the operator winds the liner 5 by applying the first face 6 to the pipe 1. The first face 6, permeable, is oriented inwardly to allow heat exchange between the pipe 1 and the The second face 7, waterproof, is oriented outwards so as to ensure good insulation of the pipe 1. The impermeability of the second face 7 also makes it possible to prevent the water released by the adhesive case of abnormal rise in temperature escapes before being vaporized. Once the lining 5 has been assembled, the operator closes the lining 5 around the pipe 1 by joining the flap 10 to the lining 5. The flap 10 is, for example, glued to the second face 7 with a flexible glue such as as a putty adhesive based on silicone resin. The flap 10 further allows to close the liner 5 without generating additional waste or dust. Advantageously, the operator makes a first seal 16 between the pipe 1 and the gasket 5 and / or a second seal 15 between the wall 2 and the gasket 5, and more precisely between the wall 2 and the face 7 of the gasket. trim 5, so as to improve the insulation (Figures 1 and 2). The sequence of steps of the method of laying the packing 5 described above allows to obtain a reduced exposure time, for example from four to seven minutes. The exposure time varies according to the diameter of the pipe 1 and is, for example, five minutes for a pipe 1 of 200 mm in diameter. The embodiments described above are illustrations of the present invention. Various modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the invention which emerges from the appended claims. In particular, the method is applicable to heat conducting members other than pipes.
