Abstract

The suspension has a fixed part (2), a moving part (3) of constant transverse size, and a base that is fixed on the moving part. A lateral adjustment system is arranged for connecting the moving part at the fixed part for authorizing translation of the moving part with regard to the fixed part according to a primarily vertical trajectory located entirely in a longitudinal plan. A suspension mechanism connects the fixed part to the moving part. A set of parallel walls (7) is located at front and at back of the suspension according to a transverse plan forming the moving part.

Description

The present invention relates to a seat suspension which, when mounted on a vehicle, serves to damp the transmission to the passenger of the vertical accelerations experienced by the vehicle. A seat suspension of the state of the art comprises a stationary fixed portion of the vehicle, a movable portion rigidly supporting a passenger seat, and a translation system for translating the movable portion relative to the fixed portion along the a substantially vertical trajectory inscribed in a vertical plane parallel to the longitudinal plane of symmetry of the vehicle, and a suspension mechanism connecting the fixed part to the movable part or to a part of the translation system, this suspension mechanism consisting of a spring and a damper, and a bellows closing the space between the fixed portion and the movable portion to prevent crushing fingers. This bellows is relatively expensive insofar as it is made from a custom tool that is not economical for small series production. In addition this bellows is not aesthetic, is difficult to clean, and is difficult to mount given its multitude of attachment points.

An object of the present invention is to provide a seat suspension which does not have these disadvantages of the prior art, and in particular which prevents the risk of crushing fingers without the use of a bellows. For this purpose is proposed a seat suspension to be mounted on a vehicle, said seat suspension being located along longitudinal planes which are vertical and parallel to the direction of advance of said vehicle in a straight line, and in transverse planes which are vertical and perpendicular longitudinal plane audits of said vehicle, said seat suspension comprising: - a fixed part integral with a constituent structure of said vehicle, - a moving part of constant transverse dimension to which is fixed a seat, - a translation system connecting said part mobile to said fixed portion, allowing a translation of said movable portion relative to said fixed portion in a substantially vertical path lying entirely in a longitudinal plane, - a suspension mechanism connecting said fixed portion to said movable portion or a portion 30 of said translation system, - walls according to trans planes versaux part of said movable part located at the front and rear of said seat suspension. a sufficient height of said walls of said movable part to hide whatever the translational position, said movable part, said translation system and said suspension mechanism, in order to prevent injuries in contact with the moving parts constituting said translation system or said suspension mechanism, - flanks along longitudinal planes forming part of said fixed part, such that they are sufficiently extended longitudinally and vertically to cover whatever the translational position, said movable part and in particular said walls, said flanks being fitted transversely on both sides of the moving part in such a way that a child's finger can not slip into it. Thanks to this geometry based on said walls and said constituent flanks respectively of said fixed and movable parts, no finger crush point exists between the movable part and the fixed part, eliminating the need for bellows. The characteristics of the invention mentioned above will appear more clearly on reading the following description of an exemplary embodiment, said description being given in relation to the attached drawings, among which: FIG. 1 shows the integration of two seat suspensions into a vehicle. FIG. 2 shows the seat suspension alone and in the vertical translation up position of the movable part. Figs. 3 and FIG. 3bis show the fixed part alone. Figs. 4 and FIG. 4bis show the moving part alone.

Fig. 6 shows the seat suspension in the lower position of vertical translation of the movable part. In all the figures, the seat suspension is marked on the one hand with longitudinal planes which are vertical and parallel to the direction of advance of said vehicle in a straight line indicated by an arrow visible in FIG. 1, and on the other hand transverse planes which are vertical and perpendicular longitudinal planes audits. In the embodiment of the invention presented here, FIG. 1 shows the seat suspension 30 consisting of a fixed part 2 which is fixed to the structure 1 constituting the vehicle, and a movable part 3 to which is fixed the seat 4. FIG. 2 shows the isolated suspension of the structure 1 of the vehicle and the seat 4. The fixed part 2, visible only in FIG. 3 and also in FIG. 3a in the inverted position, consists in one piece of a fixed plate 9 openwork apertures 10, two sides 8 parallel and arranged on each side of the fixed plate 9, and devices 11. The movable part 3, visible only in FIG. 4 and also in FIG. 4a in the inverted position, consists of a single piece of a movable plate 12, two parallel walls 7 and disposed on each side of the movable plate 12, and devices 13, the movable plate 12 and the two walls 7 being of the same transverse dimension. Fig. 5 shows the underside of the seat suspension mounted such that the devices 13 of the movable part 3 penetrate the fixed part 2 through its openings 10. FIG. 5 also shows the translation system 5 connecting the devices 13 of the movable part 3 to the devices 11 of the fixed part 2, thus allowing a translation of the mobile part 3 with respect to the fixed part 2 in a substantially vertical trajectory lying entirely in a longitudinal plane. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the translation is done according to a flattened arc of a circle, arranged symmetrically above and below a horizontal plane, therefore in a substantially vertical trajectory. Fig. 5 also shows the suspension mechanism 6 (comprising a spring and a damper) connecting here elements integral with the fixed part 2 to the translation system 5. FIG. 2 shows the movable part 3 in translation up position relative to the fixed part 2, while FIG. 6 shows the mobile part 3 in the low translation position relative to the fixed part 2. FIGS. 2 and 6 show the mobile part 3, having walls 7 in transverse planes situated at the front and at the rear of the seat suspension, these walls 7 being sufficiently high to hide, whatever the translational position, the moving part 3, the translation system 5 and the suspension mechanism 6, in order to prevent injuries in contact with the moving parts constituting the translation system 5 or the suspension mechanism 6.

Figs. 2 and 6 show the fixed part 2, having flanks 8 along longitudinal planes, such that they are sufficiently extended longitudinally and vertically to cover whatever the translational position, the movable part 3 and in particular its walls 7, the 8 flanks being adjusted transversely on either side of the movable part and its walls 7 so that a child's finger can not slip.

According to this embodiment, the absence of bellows as well as the flat surfaces easy to manufacture by folding sheet metal for example, allow the economical manufacture in small series of secure seat suspensions. Also these flat outer surfaces are easy to clean, and aesthetically sober since the translation system and the suspension mechanism are hidden.
