Abstract
Description
WITH REINFORCED ENGINE COMPONENT STRETCHERS The technical field of the invention lies in the attachment of stretchers on the body of a vehicle. The structure of a vehicle generally comprises in its front part two parallel stretchers, extending the two longitudinal longitudinal members under or in the floor. These stretchers evolve at heights greater than those of the longitudinal members and are oriented longitudinally with respect to the motor vehicle. They are fixed near the deck which is the partition wall substantially vertical between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment. The invention relates to a vehicle structure comprising a floor and at least one stretcher extending from the floor. Patent document FR 2 934 840 A1 discloses a system for attaching stretchers to a motor vehicle. Fixing is provided by an interface piece inserted between each stretcher and the deck crossbar. The interface piece includes an opening with legs for attachment to the stretcher. It also includes mounting surfaces to the deck rail. The advantage of this fastening system lies essentially in the fact that the opening and the fixing lugs can be provided at variable locations on the interface piece, so as to be able to provide variable stretching locations depending on the model of attachment. vehicle and / or configuration. This fastening system, however, has limitations with respect to the energy absorption capacity of an impact by the stretchers. Indeed, these are likely to flare in an intermediate zone between the attachment and the front end. The object of the invention is to propose a vehicle structure that overcomes the aforementioned problem. More particularly, the invention aims to provide a vehicle structure with stretchers able to absorb more impact energy. The subject of the invention is a vehicle structure, comprising: a floor; at least one stretcher extending in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle from the floor, an apron extending substantially transversely to the stretcher and forming a wheel well; remarkable in that it comprises, in addition, a reinforcement disposed on the stretcher and the wheel well. The reinforcement can be an integral part of the stretcher or the apron, specifically the wheel arch. Alternatively, it may be a separate element of the stretcher and the wheel arch. The reinforcement is attached or tied to each of the stretcher and the wheel arch. The stretcher is an optionally variable section section. The apron extends at the junction between the stretchers and the rest of the structure, in particular the longitudinal members and the floor.
The reinforcement is preferably continuous and free to jump so as to be able to resist bending. According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement is a sheet metal element extending along a lateral face of the stretcher directed towards the outside of the vehicle, and along the wheel well, preferably in the extension of said 15 face. According to another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement is a sheet metal element forming a side face of the stretcher directed towards the outside of the vehicle, and extending along the wheel well, preferably in the extension of said face. According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the side face of the stretcher facing the outside of the vehicle is essentially aligned with the wheel well. According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement comprises ribs or ridges intended to stiffen it, the ribs or ridges extending essentially in the direction of the stretcher, the ribs or ridges being preferably stampings. The ribs or ridges extend continuously along the wheel well and the stretcher so as to have optimum flexural strength. According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement extends over substantially the entire height of the stretcher at the location of the reinforcement.
According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement has a generally curved shape matching the wheel well. According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement is fixed by welding, preferably by point and / or bead welding.
According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the reinforcement extends on less than 20 cm, preferably 15 cm, on each of the stretcher and the wheel well. According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the stretcher is a front stretcher extending along the engine compartment. According to yet another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the structure comprises a stretcher on each side of the vehicle, with a reinforcement disposed along each stretcher and the corresponding wheel well, respectively. The invention also relates to a vehicle comprising the structure according to the invention. The measures of the invention allow the stretchers of a vehicle structure to increase their energy absorption capacity of an impact, and this by means inexpensive and simple to implement. Simulations and tests have shown the effect of reinforcement in case of impact. The rear end of the stretcher recessed or fixed to the structure at the deck is maintained so as to limit the bending of the stretcher at the beginning of its deformation during the impact. The stretcher can thus continue to deform in compression and participate in the energy absorption of the impact. The use of the wheel well adjacent to the stretcher to strengthen the stretcher is interesting because this element has a high rigidity, because of its rounded shape, by the edge that it forms with the deck and by its multiple points of attachment to the rest of the structure. During an impact, the reinforcement works essentially in compression in the middle plane of its thickness, as well as in flexion tending to fold it on itself. This type of effort is particularly well supported by the wheel arch. Other features and advantages of the present invention will be better understood from the description and drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a side view of the front part of the vehicle structure according to the invention; - Figure 2 is a top view of the representation of Figure 1, the view being a sectional view of the deck to a dimension corresponding to the passage hole of the steering column; FIG. 3 is a view from above of the deformation of a stretcher of a vehicle structure without the reinforcement according to the invention; - Figure 4 is a top view of the deformation of a stretcher of a vehicle structure provided with the reinforcement according to the invention.
Un renfort 10 est disposé à cheval sur le brancard 6 et le passage de roue 8.Figure 1 illustrates the front side portion of the structure of a vehicle according to the invention. The structure 2 essentially comprises two stretches of which only one 6 is partially visible in FIG. 1. The two stretches extend essentially parallel from the floor 14 towards the front end of the structure. They thus cross longitudinally the engine compartment. Each of the stretcher is connected to a spar 16 disposed in or under the floor 14. The stretches extend substantially horizontally to heights greater than that of the spars, which gives them a profile of arms or shafts in the manner of a stretcher or a stretcher. The stretchers are also fixed to each other via a cross member 12 which is lateral to the deck 4. The latter forms indeed a partition sheet metal between the passenger compartment (located to the right of the deck in Figure 1) and the engine compartment comprising the stretchers. It can also serve as a support for various accessories or components such as the pedal or at least part of it. The apron 4 extends transversely to the vehicle structure and comprises a wheel arch 8 at each side of the vehicle. The stretcher 6, visible in Figure 1, is arranged to substantially flush with the corresponding wheel well 8, more specifically with the portion of the wheel well in question which is at the portion of the stretcher which is in its vicinity or in contact with it. A reinforcement 10 is placed astride the stretcher 6 and the wheel arch 8.
As seen in Figure 1 and Figure 2 which is a top view of the illustration of Figure 1, the reinforcement consists essentially of a generally curved sheet conforming to the shape of the stretcher and that of the wheel well. It preferably comprises ribs or ridges intended to stiffen it. They can be made by stamping. They are oriented at least mainly in the direction of the stretcher and hence in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The reinforcement 10 extends over essentially at least the average height of the stretcher, it being understood that the latter can vary along the stretcher. It extends longitudinally further along the wheel arch than along the stretcher. The reinforcement can be made of high strength steel sheet, with a thickness greater than or equal to 1 mm. It is attached to the wheel well and the stretcher by soldering type welding spot or cord type.
It is interesting to note in Figure 1 that the wheel arch 8 forms an edge with the apron 4, this edge participating in the stiffness of the wheel arch. It should also be noted that the free edge of the wheel arch 8 is intended to be fixed by welding to other elements of the vehicle structure, thus giving it a high rigidity. The ridge formed by the wheel arch 8 with the apron 4 extends to the junction between the stretcher and the wheel arch. The establishment of the reinforcement 10 at this location is thus particularly interesting from an optimization point of view of the structure. Figure 3 is a top view of a vehicle structure corresponding to that of Figures 1 and 2, the structure having been impacted. It can be observed that the stretcher 6, which was initially substantially straight and oriented in a direction corresponding in the figure to a horizontal passing through the junction of the stretcher with the deck, flamed at an intermediate point. It is thus no longer able to resume and absorb important efforts. It will indeed continue to deform by folding more.
Il limite la flexion du brancard par rapportFigure 4 is a view similar to Figure 3, namely a top view of a vehicle structure corresponding to that of Figures 1 and 2, the structure having been impacted. However, it differs from Figure 3 in that the structure comprises a reinforcement as shown in Figures 1 and 2. It can be observed that the role of the reinforcement with respect to the deformation of the stretcher. Indeed, the reinforcement maintains the stretcher at its rear end, namely at its installation in the vehicle structure. It limits the bending of the stretcher compared
