The field of the present invention is that of wind turbines, in particular offshore installations and in particular on floating supports. The object of the invention relates to the active stabilization of the nacelle according to two angles, of azimuth and of inclination with respect to the vertical. The objective is to maintain the plane of rotation of the blades substantially always perpendicular to the direction of the wind, and this for all the wind direction changes and for all movements of the support of the mast and the nacelle. We know that to maximize wind power, we must optimize the positioning of the blades facing the wind. Wind power is proportional to the section of rotation of the blades, this section is maximum if it is perpendicular to the real axis of wind direction. In addition, with blades well positioned in the wind, the mechanical strength of components, blades and rotor, will be improved. The controlled orientation of the nacelle (of the plane of the blades) depends on two angles, the azimuth angle contained in the horizontal plane and the angle of inclination contained in the vertical plane of the nacelle. The azimuth angle of the wind varying from 0 to 360 degrees is generally measured with a wind vane wedged relative to an azimuth reference. The angle of inclination of the wind direction, varying around 90 degrees from the horizontal plane, is usually measured with an inclinometer. In offshore, a wind turbine on floating support is not stable unlike wind turbines on fixed supports. The movements of the floating support in pitch and roll 25 are transmitted to the mat to which is added the inclination of the mat by the effect of the thrust of the wind on the blades in rotation, thrust proportional to the power taken to the wind. The movements of the mat are aperiodic, they are transmitted by the mat to the nacelle and the rotor, they are very detrimental to the mechanical strength of the rotating elements, the rotor and the blades and therefore to the reliability of the wind turbine. The current wind turbines on floating support are rigidly fixed to its support. As a result, the combined actions of the wind thrust on the plane of rotation of the blades and the movements of the floating support incline the mast. This is detrimental to the proper functioning of the wind turbine and produces significant mechanical stress on the blades and the rotor, particularly in strong wind. Mechanical systems are known for modifying the inclination of a wind turbine nacelle, but they are not suitable for large, high-powered wind turbines, especially offshore or fixed wind turbines. Thus, the present invention relates to a device for controlling the angle of inclination and azimuth orientation of the plane of rotation of the blades of a wind turbine having a nacelle mounted on a mat. The device comprises in combination: at least one tilt rotation ring whose rolling surface is at a non-zero angle with the main axis of the mat, and at least one azimuth rotation ring having an angle = 0. The device may comprise a rotation ring in azimuth between the nacelle and the upper end of the mat. It may comprise an azimuth rotation ring below said tilt rotation ring. The device may comprise two rotation rings inclination. The two crowns may have different rolling plane angles with respect to the axis of the mat. The invention also relates to a wind turbine having a nacelle mounted on a mat whose plane of rotation of the blades is controlled in azimuth and inclination, comprising the device described above. The wind turbine may include the device at the top of the mast, so as to control the inclination and azimuth of the nacelle. It may comprise the device substantially at the base of the mat, so as to control the inclination and azimuth of the mat. The wind turbine may have profiling elements along the mast. The wind turbine may include a bevel gear in the nacelle so as to have the means for recovering the rotation energy of the blades in the mat. The wind turbine may have a mat carried by a floating support.
The present invention will be better understood and its advantages will appear more clearly on reading the following embodiments, in no way limiting, and illustrated by the appended figures, in which: FIGS. 1a and 1b illustrate the principle of floating wind turbines, FIGS. 2a and 2b schematically show the control of the inclination of a wind turbine nacelle, FIGS. 3a and 3b describe the principle of the device according to two embodiments, FIGS. 4a and 4b illustrate the control of the inclination. of the mast of a floating offshore wind turbine, - Figures 5a and 5b show the principle of wind turbine variants. FIG. 1a shows a wind turbine comprising blades 1 of a nacelle 2 carried by a mast 3. The wind turbine is in this floating offshore version, that is to say carried by a floating support 4, generally anchored (anchorage not shown).
FIG. 1b shows the influence of the displacement of the floating support on the orientation of the plane of rotation of the blades, with respect to the direction wind 5. The inclination of the blades with respect to the wind makes the wind turbine lose its efficiency. . A device according to the present invention 6 is arranged under the nacelle, at the upper junction with the mat. In Figure 2a, the inclination control device does not correct the angle formed between the mat and the nacelle. By cons in Figure 2b, the floating support, under the action of a roll, causes a tilting of the mat. The device according to the invention 6 corrects the angle of the nacelle with the mat so that it remains substantially facing the wind. Figure 3a schematically shows the constitution of a device for controlling the inclination and azimuth. The reference 7 designates the main axis of the mast carrying the platform 2.
The device here comprises three rotation rings. The rings 8 and 9 have their plane of rotation which is at an angle to the axis of the mat 7. The ring 8 is at an angle a, and the ring 9 is at an angle R. A rotation ring in azimuth 10, located at the base of the device allows a rotation of the assembly around the mat axis 7. Thus, this ring allows azimuth control of the whole set above this ring. It is clear that other rotation rings in azimuth can be arranged above, and in particular under the nacelle. An azimuth rotation ring is therefore characterized in that its plane of rotation is orthogonal to the axis of the mat.
The lower and upper elements respectively referenced 11 and 12 in Figure 3a, rotate relative to each other through the tilt rotation ring 8. In Figure 3a, the respective angular position of these two elements 11 and 12 does not provide an inclination of the upper part to the tilt rotation ring 8. 5 If the elements 11 and 12 are rotated by 180 °, with respect to each other, the axis 7 of the upper portion rotates about the orthogonal 13 to the plane of rotation of the ring 8. Thus, the upper portion is inclined at an angle 2a, relative to the axis of the lower portion to said rotation ring in tilt. The angle of inclination can be varied continuously from 0 to 2a by applying a rotation of 0 to 180 ° to the two elements 11 and 12 on either side of the tilt rotation ring 8. It should be noted that that at each angle of rotation of the crown 8, the azimuth of the upper part changes and varies from 0 (origin) to 180 °. This requires that the present device necessarily comprises at least one rotation ring for the azimuth orientation. FIG. 3a illustrates a rotation ring stack comprising an inclined rotation ring 9 between its lower and upper elements 14 and 15 respectively. In FIG. 3a, the elements 14 and 13 are shown having an inclination of 43.degree. nacelle 2, relative to the main axis 7 of the mat. It is thus possible to have accumulations of angle of inclination. FIG. 3b shows an embodiment of the device in which there is an azimuthal rotation ring 16, an inclined rotation ring 17, and a second inclined rotation ring 18. The choice of the angles of the rotation planes by relative to the main axis of the tube of the mat 19 allows adjustments of the inclinations according to the rotation of the crowns. The means for rotating the crowns and the elements 25 of the crowns are not shown because their realization is within the abilities of a person skilled in the art. Figures 4a and 4b describe a variant of the invention in which the tilt and azimuth control device 20 is at the base of the mast 21 of the wind turbine. The wind turbine is supported by flotation means 22 subject to movements due to waves, tides, wind, and / or currents, as shown schematically in Figure 4b. The purpose of implementing the device for controlling the position of the plane of the blades 23 is to adjust the position of the mat 21, whatever the movements and displacements of the floating support 22. In a variant, an orientation ring in azimuth 24 can be placed directly under the nacelle, as is common in wind turbines, whether offshore or onshore. Figures 5a and 5b describe advantageous options in combination with the device according to the invention arranged as in the previous figures, at the base of the mat.
In this variant, an azimuth orientation ring 25 is placed in an intermediate position in the height of the mat. The upper part 26 of the mat has means for improving the aerodynamics 27 of the mast vis-à-vis the wind. FIG. 5b also describes a variant of the energy recovery system provided by the blades, which comprises an angle gear 28 on the rotation shaft 29 of the blades. The mechanical energy transformation means 30 are placed in the mat, below the rotation ring of the azimuth 25. The rotation rings, inclined or azimuth, can be made in the same way as the steering means for cranes, towers, etc. The means for rotating the crowns are slaved to the position of the plane of the blades by joint measurements: of the wind direction, oscillations of the nacelle, displacements of the floating support, etc ... All these measurements are acquired preferably in dynamics so as to feed computers allowing to send the instructions of automatic controls. The advantages of orienting the platform in azimuth and inclination are: - each blade receives the wind perpendicularly along the two axes, the vertical and the horizontal, - reduction of the stresses applied to the blades particularly at the end of the blades and the rotor, no cyclic efforts, 25 - improvement of the efficiency of the rotating part of the blades which are well oriented maintained face to the wind, - additional degrees of freedom of the nacelle to facilitate the assembly of the blades, orientation of the plane of the blades compared in the nacelle, - application to wind turbines installed on land on slopes inclined or close to the summit, the direction of the wind follows approximately the profile of the terrain, rising or falling profile. Thus, the adaptation of the inclination of the nacelle to the direction of the rising or falling wind improves the efficiency of the wind turbine and reduces the mechanical stresses on the blades and the rotor.
However, the invention more particularly relates to a wind turbine on a floating support for which the mast is not fixed.
