Description
The present invention relates to a device for the production of wind energy. Many wind farms, known as off-shore wind farms, are installed or planned offshore. These wind turbines offer advantages: they produce energy more evenly and have a much less impact on the landscape. However, the installation of these wind turbines is expensive: the routing on site and the means required for their construction are important; environmental constraints are important, especially poles 20 must withstand the highest waves, their protection against corrosion must also be more important; maintenance is expensive as is the connection to an underwater network, which can be an electrical network or the hydrogen network, if there are electrolysers on the wind turbines; and, 25 the weather conditions are more difficult than in the ground, the wind turbines must especially be able to withstand storms or hurricanes. Nevertheless, at full capacity, all other things being equal, such a wind turbine can produce up to 30% more energy than a single wind turbine installed on the ground. However, for an off-shore wind farm to be industrially efficient, installation and maintenance costs must be reduced and operational availability increased. The invention aims to provide a device for meeting all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks. To achieve its purpose, the invention proposes a wind turbine, characterized in that it comprises a mast, at least one nacelle and at least one rotor carried by the nacelle, this nacelle being mounted movably along the mast, between a high position. and a low position. Advantageously, the wind turbine comprises means for tilting the rotor horizontally.
Thus, it may comprise a carriage for tilting the rotor, this carriage comprising a sleeve and a rocker, the sleeve being provided to move along the mast and the rocker being articulated with said sleeve in rotation about a tilting axis horizontal. Preferably, the rocker carries at least two rotors laterally spaced two by two from each other, and preferably a group of four rotors. In particular, if it is installed at sea, the wind turbine may comprise a platform, above which the mast rises, in the vicinity of which the rotors can be arranged in the tilted position. Advantageously, the wind turbine comprises a protection disposed on the platform and provided to protect the rotors in the tilted position.
According to another embodiment, the means for tilting the rotor horizontally may comprise a folding mast. It may also include a platform arranged such that in the low position 5 of the nacelle and folded of the mast, it allows access to the nacelle, especially for the maintenance of said wind turbine. Advantageously, the platform comprises means for storing equipment for a nacelle, including a generator, at least one and preferably four replacement blades, and other spare parts. Preferably, each rotor comprises at least three blades, preferably four blades.
The wind turbine may further comprise means (8) for positioning it at sea. Several embodiments of the invention will be described below, by way of nonlimiting examples, with reference to the appended drawings in which: Figure 1 is a front elevational view of a first embodiment for a wind turbine according to the invention, shown in a raised position; Figure 2 is a view similar to that of Figure 1, in which the wind turbine is shown in the down position; Figure 3 is a side elevational view of the wind turbine of Figure 1, in which it is shown in the folded position; Figure 4 is an elevational view of a second embodiment for a wind turbine according to the invention, shown in the upper position; Figure 5 is a view similar to that of Figure 4, in which the wind turbine is shown in the down position; and, Figure 6 is a view of the wind turbine of Figure 4, in which it is shown in the folded position.
Figures 1 to 3 illustrate a first embodiment for a wind turbine according to the invention, intended to provide electricity from the wind. In the illustrated example, it is installed at sea. It includes: - a mast 2; A carriage 3; four rotors 4 each comprising three blades 9; a platform 5 mounted on piles, above which the mast rises; and - a strain 8, from which the mast rises and which serves as inking 15 in the seabed. As particularly illustrated in Figure 3, each rotor 4 is carried by a nacelle 6. This nacelle comprises, where appropriate, a geared motor driven by the rotor and an electric generator driven by the geared motor. The carriage comprises four branches 7, each carrying at one end a nacelle 6 respectively. The carriage 3 comprises a sleeve 11. The sleeve 11 is designed to move vertically along the mast between a high position PH illustrated in FIG. 1 and a low position PB illustrated in FIG. 2. It is also intended to be able to orient the rotors, around the mast, so that they face the wind. The mast 2 comprises a rack 13 which serves for the vertical displacement of the sleeve, therefore of the carriage 3. The high position and the low position, and the intermediate positions, are adapted to the electrical production. In these positions, the axis of rotation X4 of each rotor 4 is substantially horizontal.
Dans la position PE de la figure 3, le chariot est au plus bas le long du mât 2.As particularly illustrated in FIG. 3, the carriage 3 furthermore comprises a rocker 12 articulated with the sleeve 11 in rotation about a horizontal axis of rotation X 12 and in a position perpendicular to that of the 5 axes of rotation X 4 of the rotors 4. The rocker 12 is provided to tilt around the tilting axis X12 so that the X4 axes of the rotors are oriented vertically. It is a tilted position PE which is illustrated in FIG. 3. In the position PE of FIG. 3, the carriage is at the lowest point along the mast 2.
The tilted PE position of the wind turbine does not allow the production of energy. It is adapted to the maintenance of the wind turbine, in particular nacelles and rotors, easily accessible from the platform 5. The tilted position PE is also adapted to put the wind turbine 1 safely during the passage of a storm. . It thus offers a lesser hold to the wind, and the moment exerted by the wind on the mast 2 is negligible. In the example illustrated in Figure 3, a protection 20 is provided for the crew 22 formed of the carriage 3, nacelles 6 and 4 rotors, when the crew is in the tilted position PE.
The protection 20 comprises two hulls 21 mounted to move horizontally on the platform and arranged to close around the mast 2. When the hulls 21 are closed around the mast, the protection 20 forms a dome, which, like a shed, isolates the 22 crew weather, increasing the protection in case of storm and providing better working conditions for the maintenance of the wind turbine. In the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 3, the rotors 4 are in circles 24 which do not overlap. Thus, it is not necessary to synchronize the rotors to avoid interference between the blades 9. In addition, the rotors are arranged so that when tilting, the blades do not come to strike the mast 2. In the example illustrated in Figures 1 to 3, the rotors are arranged at the front of the mast. The rotors could also be arranged at the rear, since, due to the lateral spacing of the rotors, the drag produced in the wind at the rear of the mast has little influence on their performance. This arrangement would allow self-orientation of the crew 22, under the sole effect of the wind.
The wind turbine further comprises a floor 26 disposed at the top of the mast and, above the floor of the ancillary equipment 27, 28. The equipment illustrated is a solar electricity generator 27 and an antenna 28. The solar generator 27 is solar panel type, and intended to automatically position itself according to the sun. It is particularly useful as a backup power source, when the wind turbine is not in productive operation, for example during tilting. The antenna can be used to control the wind turbine remotely from land, sea, or space, to collect operating parameters, or to serve as a relay for communications at sea. It is particularly advantageous to be able to control the wind turbine remotely, in order to be able to secure it in the tilted position PE, when a storm is announced. The solar generator 27 may be concentrator or not. The antenna 28 is preferably parabolic.
Lorsqu'il est rabattu, sa position est adaptée à l'entretien de l'éolienne, notamment à l'entretien de la nacelle ou au remplacement d'une pale 9.In addition to the advantages previously stated, this first embodiment makes it possible to use rotors whose blades have a length substantially equal to half that of the blades of an equivalent single-rotor wind turbine of the prior art. These rotors are proportionately less expensive, more standard, and easier to maintain. In addition, the noise produced by the wind turbine is much lower. A second embodiment will now be described for a wind turbine 41 according to the invention, with reference to FIGS. 4 to 6, only in that it differs from the first embodiment. In this example, the wind turbine comprises a single rotor 4 carried by a single nacelle 6. According to the invention, the nacelle 6 is mounted vertically movable along the mast 2 between a high position PH, illustrated in FIG. a low position PB, illustrated in Figure 5. The strain 8, serves as anchoring to the mast 2 on the sea floor. The mast is hinged to the stump, so that it can take an upright position, illustrated in Figures 4 and 5, substantially vertical, and a folded position, illustrated in Figure 6, substantially horizontal. When the mast is erected, it is in a position adapted to the production of electricity. When folded down, its position is adapted to the maintenance of the wind turbine, including the maintenance of the nacelle or the replacement of a blade 9.
In the example shown, the nacelle 3 is offset laterally relative to the mast 2. This arrangement is particularly advantageous, since at no time is a blade aligned with the mast, which limits the appearance of clocked forces. resulting from this passage at regular intervals. Such efforts are likely to cause fatigue and premature wear of the wind turbine. This device is more particularly interesting for a rotor with four blades, whose performance is theoretically better, but two blades would otherwise be simultaneously aligned with the mast. As particularly illustrated in Figure 6 the strain 8 forms a yoke in which the mast is articulated about a tilting axis X8. In the extension of the mast, beyond the axis X8, the wind turbine further comprises a counterweight 52. The counterweight forms a substantially rigid assembly with the mast. Its weight is such that it substantially balances the formed crew of the mast and the nacelle, when the nacelle is in the lower position, which limits the weight of the counterweight 8. In the folded position illustrated in Figure 6 the mast is substantially 10 elongated above the platform so that the nacelle, including blades 9, are easily accessible from the platform. The maintenance of the wind turbine is thus facilitated. The folded position can also be used when an exceptional storm is announced, to limit the forces of wind and waves on the mast. The provisions of the two embodiments presented are particularly advantageous. Indeed, the speed, and sometimes the direction of the wind, vary according to the altitude. The wind is generally retarded by the roughness of the sea surface, so that it is slower when approaching this surface. Thus, when the wind is too strong to allow the wind turbine to be used in the high position, it may still be possible to use it in the low position.
It is also possible to provide a mast higher than in wind turbines whose rotors have a fixed altitude. Indeed, even in low wind conditions, it is possible to get a stronger wind higher (+ 40%, for example), knowing that the rotor or rotors can be lowered and secured when the wind gets stronger.
As a result, the range of use and therefore the time of use of a wind turbine according to the invention is significantly increased with respect to a fixed altitude wind turbine, since it is possible to produce electricity in higher wind conditions, in the lower position and in lower wind conditions, thanks to a higher mast. Of course, the invention is not limited to the preferred embodiments which have just been described, but on the contrary the invention is defined by the following claims.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications can be made to the embodiments described above, in the light of the teaching just disclosed.
30Thus, particularly in the case of the first embodiment, means can be provided for storing a spare blade on or in the platform, which considerably limits the duration of the shutdown of the wind turbine when a blade is damaged. One can even store as many blades as a rotor includes. This also avoids mobilizing special transport means to urgently route a replacement blade, which can be very time consuming and expensive when the wind turbine is installed on the high seas. The operational availability of the wind turbine is thus increased. . For a better performance, it may be preferable to drive the generator directly by the blades without a geared motor. Such arrangements can be adapted to a wind turbine, including the articulation of the mast, which facilitates the assembly or change of a blade. 30
