Abstract

The device has an abdominal orthopedic belt (1) made of elastic tissue and comprising velcro(RTM: hook and loop fastener) type closing systems (2). One of the closing systems closes the top and bottom of a small orifice, where the orifice is provided in the belt for the passage of ostomy and colostomy pocket. Another closing system joins horizontal velcro(RTM: hook and loop fastener) straps by vertical velcro(RTM: hook and loop fastener) straps. An adjustable opening/closing system is provided at the back of a patient.

Description

The present invention relates to a device for effectively containing, in a patient, a hernia of the abdominal wall having developed in a definitive colonic stoma (commonly called artificial anus: externalization of colonic mucosa, confined to the skin of the abdominal wall, for evacuation of feces, after partial colonic removal). The compression of these hernias is traditionally performed by an orthopedic belt, which crushes the stoma, which is detrimental to it (flow of stool and trophicity of the stoma). Some of these belts, made to measure, are pierced with an orifice allowing the stoma, the support of the colostomy bag and a pocket filled with stools to pass through, but the hernia can also pass through the orifice, the problem no restraint of the hernia and its potential strangulation is not eliminated. The device according to the invention overcomes this disadvantage. It has in fact a first characteristic: a closure of the belt, edge to edge, above, and below an orifice of reduced size to the maximum, allowing only the stoma and the support of the pouch to pass. colostomy, by a double system of velcro type (registered trademark), sewn over the classic elasticated fabric belt, allowing: 1. a better compression of the hernia, since on the one hand the orifice allows Zo to pass only the stoma and the support of the colostomy bag (and no longer a pocket filled with stool), on the other hand, the double closure system (horizontal and vertical) ensures a better compression of the hernia 2. the evacuation facilitated pockets filled with feces.

According to particular embodiments, the device may have two other characteristics: 1. a second closure of the belt may be envisaged at the patient's back, with the same closure by a velcro-type system, allowing adaptability of the size of the belt to variations in the patient's waist circumference. 2. an addition of straps (removable) may be provided, allowing the patient to change his daily colostomy bag avoiding a complete undressing at each introduction of the belt (especially outside the home), straps 25 30 2- allowing the maintenance of the belt almost in place.

The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: FIGS. 1 and 1a respectively represent the device of the invention in the open position and in the closed position, in the particular case of a left colonic stoma. - Figure 2 shows a side view of the device. - Figure 3 shows a first variant of this device (adjustable opening in the back). - Figure 4 shows a second variant of this device (adding braces). A0 with reference to these drawings, the device comprises: - an orthopedic belt made of elastic fabric (1), - two velcro closure systems (2) one coming close, edge to edge, the belt, respectively above and below the orifice provided for the stoma and AS support of the colostomy bag; the other coming together the two horizontal velcro strips by two bands of vertical velcro, to increase the maintenance of the hernia (3) and avoiding the strangulation thereof.

In the embodiment according to Figure 3, the orthopedic belt also comprises a closure system at the back of the patient (4), allowing adaptation of this belt to changes in the waist of the patient. The closure system is presented in open position. VI corresponds to a velcro width equal to 1/3 of the velcro width V2.

Le symbole de la croix (X) indique des exemples de localisations possibles,à adapter en fonction du morphotype du patient In the embodiment according to Figure 4, the addition of straps (5), removable, allows greater versatility of use of the belt once during colostomy bag changes (especially out of home). The symbol of the cross (X) indicates examples of possible locations, to be adapted according to the morphotype of the patient
