Abstract

The architecture has a backrest (3) mounted at the rear of a support along a transverse axis (4) to be moved between usage and folding positions along intermediate positions. A spring unit (10) e.g. hairpin spring, assists the folding of the backrest from the usage position. An elastic compressible unit (11) in the form of jack brakes the folding of the backrest from an intermediate position. The unit is arranged for providing a braking effort less than folding efforts induced by the unit (10) to place the backrest in the folding position without the manual support on the backrest.
