Description
It also relates to a method of manufacturing such a gliding board. Finally, it also relates to a shoe attachment device on a gliding board adapted for attachment to such a gliding board.
Most of the shoe attachment devices on a gliding board have an adjustable position on this gliding board, so as to adapt to several users of different size. For example, in the case of skiing, the heel and possibly the front stop have an adjustable longitudinal position to adapt to several different lengths of shoe, while possibly allowing the most centered positioning of the boot on the ski.
For this, it is known from FR2742345 that a ski boot fastening device can be fixed to the ski in an adjustable manner by means of a plate. This fixing device is then connected to the plate on the one hand by a guiding and retaining member and on the other hand by a locking member such as a screw, these two members being respectively housed in two oblong holes extending into the meaning of the plate. Such a solution makes it possible to operate a quick adjustment of the position of the fastening device on the ski. However, it has the disadvantage of enhancing the position of the fixing device relative to the upper surface of the ski, because of the use of an intermediate plate.
But it is always better to have the feet positioned closer to the surface of a gliding board to better feel its behavior and thus access to an optimal efficiency of its guidance. On narrow skis, it was used fixing solutions based on a high position of the shoe, the type of the solution described above, to prevent contact of the shoe on the snow during turns. Today, these solutions are no longer justified because of the extension of skis.
There is another solution described in the document FR2791268 in which a snowboard is provided with longitudinal grooves made in its structure itself to receive and fix a shoe attachment device. Such a solution has the advantage of allowing the positioning of a shoe as close to the surface of the surf. However, in such a solution, the maintenance of the fastening device on the surf is made directly and integrally by the longitudinal grooves, which thus ensure its three-dimensional retention. For this, the grooves must have a very precise geometry to avoid play and ensure effective maintenance. This solution then requires a complex and expensive manufacturing process, including in particular a precision machining step to achieve the longitudinal grooves.
A general object of the present invention is a solution for attaching a shoe attachment device to a gliding board not including the disadvantages of the existing solutions mentioned above.
More specifically, a first object of the present invention is a solution for adjustably attaching a shoe attachment device to a gliding board which allows the positioning of a shoe as close as possible to the surface of the gliding board. .
A second object of the present invention is a simple and inexpensive manufacturing method of a gliding board including an adjustable fastening means of a shoe attachment device.
The invention is based on an arrangement that allows the adjustment and immobilization of a shoe attachment device on a gliding board. For this, the concept of the invention is based on the use of at least one longitudinal groove made within the structure of the gliding board to fulfill the vertical holding function of a shoe attachment device, combination with at least one additional means on the surface of the gliding board to fulfill the functions of longitudinal and lateral retention of the shoe attachment device.
More specifically, the invention is based on a gliding board comprising an arrangement for adjusting and immobilizing a shoe attachment device, this arrangement comprising at least one longitudinal groove positioned within the structure of the gliding board. , capable of vertically maintaining a shoe attachment device and adjusting its longitudinal positioning, characterized in that it further comprises on its upper surface a longitudinal holding means and a lateral holding means of a holding device; shoe fixation.
The longitudinal holding means may be a holding means in a plurality of possible positions in the longitudinal direction to allow adjustment of the shoe attachment device.
According to a first embodiment, the longitudinal holding means and the lateral holding means are means distinct from the gliding board and fixed on its upper surface so as to extend longitudinally on this surface, and having a low thickness not exceeding a few millimeters. For example, the longitudinal holding means and / or the lateral holding means may be in the form of an elongated rack fixed on the surface of the gliding board.
According to a second embodiment, at least one of the longitudinal retention and lateral support means is integrated in the upper surface of the ski, of a small thickness not exceeding a few millimeters, extending longitudinally on the surface of the ski.
The longitudinal holding means and the lateral holding means may be obtained by a rack comprising holding teeth. According to an alternative embodiment, at least one longitudinal groove may be formed by a hollow insert closed at its ends by plugs and incorporating a longitudinally movable fixing plate and comprising at least one opening for accommodating a fixing means. This attachment plate may further include an opening for receiving a tab of a fastener.
The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a gliding board as described above, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a. Insertion of at least one closed hollow insert within the structure of the gliding board; b. Machining the surface of the gliding board to cut the upper surface of the insert to form a groove.
This method of manufacturing a gliding board may further comprise the following preliminary steps: insertion of a movable fixing plate longitudinally within the hollow insert; -Closing the insert by plugs.
In addition, the step of inserting a hollow insert may comprise the step of manufacturing a core of the gliding board, a step of machining this core to form a housing for receiving the hollow insert and a surface finishing step including at least one step of covering the hollow insert with a surface layer.
Alternatively, the step of inserting a hollow insert may comprise a step of inserting the hollow insert into a mold, an injection step in this mold to form the core of the gliding board incorporating the hollow insert.
Finally, the method of manufacturing a gliding board may include the final step of setting a longitudinal and lateral holding means on the surface of the gliding board.
These objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be set forth in detail in the following description of a particular embodiment made in a non-limiting manner in relation to the appended figures among which:
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a portion of a ski equipped with a shoe attachment device according to an embodiment of the invention; Figure 2 is a side view of a ski equipped with a shoe attachment device according to the embodiment of the invention; Figure 3 is a sectional front view of a ski equipped with a shoe attachment device according to the embodiment of the invention; Figure 4 is a bottom perspective view of the shoe attachment device according to the embodiment of the invention; FIG. 5 represents an enlarged partial view of the upper surface of the ski according to the embodiment of the invention; FIG. 6 represents an exploded perspective view of a ski binding device on a ski according to the embodiment of the invention.
The figures illustrate the implementation of the invention in the context of skiing. However, this concept could be implemented on all boards, for example surfing or snowboarding. On the other hand, the concept will be described in the context of fixing the stop of a ski boot binding, because it is particularly important that the forefoot is in the lowest possible position on the board of gliding. It can, however, naturally be implemented for a heel or for any element with adjustable positioning on the surface of a gliding board. Subsequently, we will use the terms longitudinal direction to refer to the direction parallel to the length of the ski, lateral direction for the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction in the ski plane, and vertical direction for the direction perpendicular to the plane defined by the upper surface of the ski.
FIG. 1 thus represents an abutment 1 fixed on a ski 2 by means of two longitudinal grooves 3 positioned laterally and symmetrically to a rack 4 extending longitudinally in the center on the surface of the ski. The stop 1 is fixed on the ski by four screws 5 positioned in locations 6 provided within each longitudinal groove 3 in a detailed manner thereafter. These screws 5 mainly provide vertical retention of the stop. The latter is further maintained by teeth 7 arranged under its lower surface which cooperate with the teeth of the rack 4, thus ensuring a longitudinal retention of the stop since the edge of the teeth extends in the lateral direction. Finally, slides 8 arranged within the lower surface of the abutment 1 cooperate with the side walls 9 of the rack 4 and thus provide lateral support of the abutment.
Adjustment of the positioning of the stop 1 is achieved by loosening the screws 5, so as to allow a slight vertical movement of the stop, which can then slide longitudinally. Alternatively, these screws could be quarter-turn screws or other equivalent connecting means based for example on a lever or an eccentric rod. When the new desired position is reached, the stop resumes place in cooperation on other teeth of the rack 4 and the screws 5 are tightened again.
As is particularly visible in Figures 2 and 3, this solution allows the positioning of the abutment 1 to the nearest of the upper surface of the ski. Indeed, the vertical attachment means 5,6 of the abutment is directly formed within the structure of the ski 2, for example at least partially within the core 13 of the ski. This vertical attachment is the only one that requires a certain amount of space in the vertical direction. Its partial month positioning within the structure of the ski avoids having to increase the height of the abutment 1 and thus allows the positioning of a shoe closer to the ski. The longitudinal and lateral complementary holding means 4, 7, 8 require only a small volume. Thus, the rack 4 has a very small thickness of a few millimeters, which fit into a complementary space provided in the existing thickness on the lower surface of the stop without requiring an increase in the height of the latter. This solution therefore makes it possible to guarantee the positioning of the skier's foot as close as possible to the upper surface of the ski 2.
Figure 4 particularly illustrates the lower surface of the abutment, which comprises complementary cooperation means of those arranged on the ski, and Figure 5 illustrates in more detail these means arranged on the ski. The lower surface of the stop has four lateral openings 15, intended to accommodate the screws 5 which will take place in their housing 6 provided within the grooves 3 of the ski. It further comprises two lugs 10 intended for positioning in openings 17 provided in the grooves 3. This cooperation of these means 5, 10 with the ski is carried out using cooperation plates 16 positioned longitudinally movable to Each plate 16 thus comprises two threaded openings 6 to accommodate two screws 5 for vertical attachment of the stops, and an intermediate oblong opening 17 for receiving a tab 10. The tab 10 facilitates the positioning of the stop on the board sliding, ensures the correct positioning of the screws 5 opposite the threaded portions 6 and ensures the cooperation of the abutment and the plate 16 during the adjustment phases of the positioning of the stop. The abutment 1 further comprises in its lower part a hollow central slide extending longitudinally and delimited by vertical walls 8, intended to receive the rack 4 of the ski 2. It finally has a toothed portion 7 which allows its cooperation with the complementary teeth of the rack.
The previously described ski can be very easily manufactured, according to an assembly described below and illustrated by the exploded view of FIG. 6. This method is based on two unopened tubular inserts 11 made of ABS, in which the plates are inserted. metal 13 comprising the threaded openings 6 and an oblong opening 17 previously described. When these plates 16 are inserted into the hollow inserts 11, the four ends of these inserts are closed by plugs 12 and the plates remain movable longitudinally within the tubular inserts. These closed inserts are then integrated within the structure of the ski, at least under the upper layer of reinforcement to ensure their maintenance. The ski is then completed by the usual ski manufacturing operations, which are not disturbed by the presence of the inserts 11, since they are closed, there is no particular precaution to take. In particular, there is no risk that the material used for the manufacture of the ski, such as glue, penetrates inside these inserts and does not deteriorate the subsequent operation of the device. After finishing the essential operations of manufacturing the structure of the ski, a longitudinal opening 14 is machined on the surface of the ski to perforate the upper surface of the hollow body 11 to allow access to the movable plates 16, to form the longitudinal grooves 3 explained above. This machining step is simple because it does not require a great precision, neither in the lateral and longitudinal directions, since the groove does not fulfill the function of holding a fixing device in these directions, nor in the vertical direction since it suffices to be sure to pierce the upper surface of the inserts 11, with a large margin of maneuver because of the height of the inserts 11. Finally, a plate 4 for lateral and longitudinal retention is fixed to the surface of the ski by screw. The attachment device 1 can then be added and fixed to the surface of the ski as mentioned above. As can be seen in FIG. 6, this device may consist of a base 18 comprising, under its lower surface, the cooperation elements described above. This base 18 may carry an upper body 19 including the retaining jaws of a shoe. The base 18 has a very small thickness thanks to the implementation of the concept of the invention. As a remark, FIG. 6 represents the exploded view of the elements composing the ski in their finished state of manufacture, which explains why the tubular bodies 11 and the surface of the ski are already machined and open to form the grooves 3.
The insertion of the closed tubular insert into the structure of the ski can be carried out in different ways. It is for example possible to manufacture the core 13 of the ski integrally and then to machine it to integrate the insert or to integrate the insert directly into an injection mold of the core, in order to form the core with this insert embedded in its structure. In both cases, the insert is finally at least covered by a top layer of finishing of the ski, as the reinforcing layer, in order to maintain it in position. It can also be covered by a layer of the core itself.
Finally, the invention is naturally not limited to the previous embodiment described by way of example. It extends to any solution that incorporates the concept of the invention which consists on the one hand in a vertical connection of the fixing device with a gliding board by means of a cooperation with the gliding board by the intermediate a groove within the structure of the gliding board, allowing the reduction of the necessary height above the gliding board of the fastening device to achieve this vertical attachment and thus inducing the positioning of a shoe closest to the gliding board, and secondly to another thin fastening means on the surface of the gliding board for the longitudinal and lateral retention of the shoe attachment device. This other means can be manufactured separately and can be easily machined with great precision. Thus, numerous alternative embodiments are possible, among which: the number of longitudinal grooves 3 is variable, only one could be sufficient, more than two being even also possible. Likewise, any other number of vertical fastening screws is possible, as well as any means of support other than screws; the rack can be a separate element of the gliding board, machined separately, with perfectly controlled dimensions, then fixed on the gliding board with any mechanical means such as screws or gluing or any other means of attachment, or it can be integrated directly in the same top surface of the ski, obtained during the molding step of the ski. In both cases, it may be raised slightly above the upper surface of the gliding board, or integrated into the thickness of the upper surface of the gliding board; -the rack can be in the form of a metal plate a few millimeters thick and about two centimeters wide, in any case extending over a width less than one third of the width of the ski; the lateral and longitudinal support plate may comprise teeth or any other adjustable holding means, possibly teeth having a geometry in the two longitudinal and lateral dimensions; the two functions of lateral and longitudinal support have been implemented by two different parts of the same rack, however they could be implemented by two distinct elements; the lateral holding function could also be implemented by a longitudinal groove made in the rack or within the gliding board for example, cooperating with complementary parts adapted under the shoe attachment device; - In addition, the various connecting means which cooperate between the gliding board and the lower surface of the shoe attachment device can be reversed while obtaining another equivalent solution. For example, a screw may have an integral head within the groove 3 and cooperate with a nut on the base of the shoe attachment device, the rack may be raised under the lower surface of the fastener and not recessed. ...
Many variants can be imagined by simply combining the embodiments listed above. In particular, all these solutions remain compatible with a combination with an intermediate fixing plate for attachment to the gliding board.
30 This solution thus makes it possible to respond to the objects of the invention and to offer the following advantages: it allows the positioning of a shoe as close as possible to the surface of the gliding board thanks to the at least partial realization of the means of vertical attachment within the structure of the gliding board, 20 -elle ensures a secure fixation in three dimensions of a shoe attachment device on a gliding board through the separation of the attachment means which are optimized in their fixing function while having a limited vertical footprint, it allows an easy and user-friendly setting of a shoe attachment device on a gliding board, it is easy to manufacture and at a lower cost, because of the fact that use of the arrangement in the structure of the gliding board of a means dedicated solely to the vertical holding function. 30
