Each of the two covers 4, 5 comprises a plurality of indexes 413 marked on an upper portion thereof and which are located so that the index 413 can be seen through the window 23/33. In this embodiment, the cover 4 is taken as an example. The indexes 413 are eighteen in number and the indexes 413 cover a range of 180 degrees; in other words, the range of angles between the first and second plates 11, 12 is 180 degrees. The movable elements 25, 35 are driven by the extensions 22, 32. As shown in FIG. 4, when adjusting the angle between the first and second plates 11, 12, the user pushes the buttons 26, 36 to remove the rods 27, 37 of the notches 423, 523, so that the two extensions 22, 32 drive the movable elements 25, 35. When the first and second plates 11, 12 are moved to the desired positions, the buttons 26, 36 are released and pushed back by the springs 28, 38 so that the rods 27, 37 are again engaged with the notches 423, 523. As shown in Figure 5, the index 413 observed through the window 23 of the first disk 2 is 0 (zero) degree, and the index 413 observed through the window 33 of the second disk 3 is 120 degrees. Therefore, the second plate 12 can be rotated 120 degrees by subtracting from 0 degrees to 120 degrees. As shown in FIG. 6, when the buttons 26, 36 are pushed towards the spindle 21, the first disc 2 can be caused to turn around the spindle 21. When the buttons 26, 36 are released, the extension 22 of the first Disc 2 is set on the first cover 4 and the index 413 observed through the window 23 is 90 degrees. Therefore, the second plate 12 can be rotated 30 degrees. By the adjustable angle between the first and second plates 11, 12, these can be fixed in correct positions to allow the patient to move his knee or elbow as shown in Figures 9 and 10. As shown In Figures 2, 7 and 8, a locking unit is used to prevent unintentional pushing of the buttons 26, 36 and the locking unit comprises a control switch 6 which is movably engaged with an engagement cavity. 414 defined in the cover 4. An elongated slot 415 is defined in an inner surface of the engagement cavity 414 and a pin 61 extends through the elongate slot 415 and is connected to the control switch 6. The pawl 62 is connected to the pin 61 and driven by the control switch 6 to the second plate 12 so as to fix an angle between the first and second plates 11, 12. Several first teeth 122 are defined in an outer periphery of the pivot end 121 and the pawl 62 includes second teeth 621 which are detachably engaged with the first teeth 122.
