DESCRIPTIONDESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to the field of cutting tubes made of paper, cardboard, plastic or other, intended for the production of packaging boxes, filts or other, and relates to a cutting device or cutter of tubes with an inner knife.
Paper, cardboard, plastic or other tubes, which are generally made by continuous longitudinal winding of one or more strips contiguous and staggered on a mandrel of appropriate cross-section to a required thickness, are subsequently cut for the production of sections of identical or different lengths, depending on their definitive use, using a cutting device or cutting tubes. For this purpose, the tube to be cut is rotated and one or more circular knives penetrate, transversely to the longitudinal axis of the tube, in the material constituting said tube until the cut is made. To avoid distortion of the tube during cutting, called ovalization, and the tearing of the material inside the tube, there is provided in the latter a counter-piece called chuck, which is placed at the right of the knives. The circular knives used are generally made of high hardness treated steel and have a single or double bevel to facilitate their penetration into the tube to be cut. At present, there are various cutting processes using either one or more circular knives free in rotation, or one or more fixed circular knives, the tube being mounted on a mandrel of synthetic material or treated steel rectified with high surface hardness . In the first case, in the presence of a plastic cutting mandrel, the knife or knives perform, at each cut, an impression in the cutting mandrel, which has the effect of generating significant marking after a number of This marking results in a groove to which, on the sections of cut tubes, corresponds an internal burr due to tearing as a result of the action of the knife or knives. If the cut is performed in the presence of a plastic cutting mandrel, the knife or knives can achieve a -2-complete course throughout the wall thickness of the tubes, so that the burrs are less important or nonexistent but they then realize, at each cut, an impression in the cutting mandrel, which has the effect of generating significant marking after a certain number of cuts. This marking results in a groove to which corresponds, after the first cuts, on the sections of cut tubes, an internal burr due to the tear following the action of the knife or knives. If the cutting mandrel is made of treated steel, the circular knife or knives, contacting said mandrel at the end of each cutting operation, roll on said cutting mandrel and their cutting edge wears rapidly. Indeed, because of the contact of the hard edge with a hard surface, said edge crumbles and has degradations similar to tiny sawtooth, so that after a few cutting operations, the appearance of cuts made is degraded and each cut causes a release of dust. To overcome these disadvantages, it has been proposed to use one or more knives rotating to cut almost the entire thickness of the tube, the final cut or finishing being performed by means of another knife. Thus, for example, one or more first knives cut the tube up to 1 mm of the inside diameter of the tube (diameter of the mandrel) and another knife makes the final cut. In such a case, the first knife or knives do not dull virtually and allow a quality cut for a long time and on most of the cut surface, while the other circular knife wears quickly on the chuck of cutting, but the poor quality of cut will be almost invisible, because the part of tube concerned is very weak. Such a cutting method has, however, the disadvantage of requiring at least two knives mounted on a single knife holder or two separate knife holders and their adjustment is very difficult to ensure. In addition, this device, which is difficult to implement in all cases, is impossible to use for cutting small diameter tubes. In the second case, namely in the case of using fixed circular knives, the resulting cut is smooth and of very good quality. Generally, the tube is rotatably mounted on a fixed cutting mandrel forming a non-rotating counterpart and the fixed knives penetrate laterally to the longitudinal axis of the tube in the material thickness of the latter. In such a case, the knife or knives heat up, however, quickly in the presence of thick cutting tube, because of friction generated. In addition, the knife or knives chase in a direction perpendicular to the cut, resulting in a cut of the tube not straight, namely strongly beveled. To overcome these disadvantages, it has been proposed to implement one or more fixed knives during cutting and to affect said knives a slight rotation during each withdrawal, after the cutting operation. Such a partial rotation of a predetermined angular value can in particular be obtained via a ratchet device. Thus, the heating phenomenon can be considerably reduced, but the beveled cut, not straight, due to the hunting knife, remains. It has also been proposed, by EP-A-0 786 315, a device for cutting tubes, in which at least one cutting tool cooperates with an anvil of a counter-support, this anvil being disposed at least in part with its end face outside the lateral surface of the counter-support. This device allows, certainly, to obtain an improved interior finish this, however, without allowing a total suppression of the burr.
In addition, the anvil of the counter-support, although it is mounted on the latter retractably against the support of springs, does not significantly improve the life of the cutting tools. The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages by providing a device for cutting or cutting tubes to obtain a burr-free interior finish, while avoiding rapid wear tools or cutting knives. For this purpose, the device for cutting or cutting tubes, which essentially consists of at least one cutting knife displaceable transversely to a cutting mandrel carrying a cutting tube, is characterized in that it is provided with , an inner knife housed in the cutting mandrel and movable radially in a peripheral opening provided therein. The invention will be better understood, thanks to the following description, which refers to a preferred embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, and explained with reference to the accompanying diagrammatic drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a partial front elevation and sectional view of a cutting device or cutting tubes according to the invention; Figure 2 is a view similar to that of Figure 1, on a larger scale, showing the inner knife in the service position; Figure 3 is a front elevational view of the support of the inner knife; Figure 4 is a sectional view along line A-A of Figure 3, and Figure 5 is a side elevation view in section of a cutting mandrel equipped with the inner knife. FIGS. 1 and 2 of the appended drawings represent, by way of example, a device for cutting or cutting tubes, which essentially consists of two cutting knives 1, each mounted on a knife carriage 2 movable transversely to a cutting mandrel 3, carrying a cutting tube 4 and guided on a hollow inner guide sleeve 5. In a continuous manner, the pivoting movement of the knife carriage 2 is adjustable by means of a stop, depending on the The thickness of the tube to be cut or cut and its prior positioning is carried out by means of an adjustment screw actuated by means of a steering wheel or an operating lever. In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, which implements two knife carts 2 each supporting a knife 1, said knives 1 are diametrically opposed to the cutting mandrel 3 carrying the tube to cut 4. 25 Bien Of course, the cutting or cutting device may also be of different type, that is to say have only one knife or have more than two knives. The means for moving the cutter carriage (s) can also be of different type and are then adapted to the selected configuration. In accordance with the invention, the tube cutting or cutting device is furthermore provided with an inner knife 6 housed in the cutting mandrel 3 and radially displaceable in a peripheral opening 7 provided in the latter (FIG. ). Thus, it is possible to cut the tube 4 over a major part of its thickness by means of one or more rotary knives 1 and to make the cut of a predetermined inner thickness by means of the knife. inside 6, so that the internal flash occurring with the machines known to date is avoided. According to a feature of the invention and as shown in Figures 2 to 5 of the accompanying drawings, the inner knife 6 is preferably a rotary knife and is mounted on a pivoting arm 8 hinged to a support 9, extending in the mandrel of section 3 and secured to the hollow inner guide sleeve 5 of said cutting mandrel 3, said pivoting arm 8 being biased into a rest position of the inner knife 6 by a return spring 10 and pressing against an actuating means radial displacement 1 l. The inner knife 6 is mounted on the pivoting arm 8 via a ball bearing 6 ', extending parallel to the pivot axis of said pivoting arm 8 and to the axis of the hollow inner guide sleeve 5. The means 11 for actuating the pivoting arm 8 in radial displacement is in the form of a cam, guided in sliding on the hollow inner guide sleeve 5 of the cutting mandrel 3 and integral with a pusher sleeve 12 connected to a ring. 13 fixing on an operating tie, not shown, passing through the inner guide hollow sleeve 5 of the cutting mandrel 3 and actuable via a cylinder or other linear motor. On the opposite side to the inner knife 6, the pivoting arm 8 is provided with a wedge element 8 'intended to cooperate with the cam forming the means 11 for actuating the pivoting arm in radial displacement 8. Thus, by pulling, at by means of the tie rod guided in the inner guide hollow sleeve 5 of the cutting mandrel 3, on the fixing ring 13, to the left in FIG. 5, the pusher sleeve 12 is moved in the same direction and drives the cam forming the means 11 actuation radial displacement of the pivoting arm 8 towards the latter, so that said cam 11 slides under the wedge element 8 'of said pivoting arm 8. It follows a push on said corner 8' and a pivoting the pivoting arm 8 about its hinge axis on a support 9, which has the effect of moving the inner knife 6 in the cutting mandrel 3, against the inner wall of the tube to be cut 4 and against the action of the return spring 10, and thus to enable er an internal cutting primer of said tube 4 to the right of the cutting knives 1. This cutting can be performed simultaneously with that operated by said cutting knives 1, -6- the driving of the tube 1 being carried out, in a known manner, through the jaw mandrel (not shown) of the machine. According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, not shown in the accompanying drawings, the inner knife 6 may advantageously be in the form of a chamfering knife. In such a case, said knife 6 is made with a corresponding sharpening. This results in the simultaneous obtaining of an internal chamfer eliminating any risk of subsistence of burrs. Thanks to the invention, it is possible to produce a device for cutting or cutting tubes with one or more knives, making it possible to make perfectly flat and smooth cuts of the ends of pipe sections, without inner burr and with a knife wear significantly reduced, the latter no longer in contact with a metal counterpart.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications are possible, particularly from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
