Abstract

The device has a thread (1) screwed on a beverage package, and a projection (2) provided such that a neck does not block discontinuous slots (4), where the device has variable dimensions and is manufactured in different materials e.g. glass, porcelain and copper. A totally immersed central cone (3) has an apex diverted towards the top, and canalizes eggs towards a body of the device. A base of the central cone is placed in a plane of a bottom of the discontinuous slots, whose thickness is between 0.3 and 0.35 millimeter.

Description

- 1/5 - La présente invention concerne un dispositif destiné à offrir auxThe present invention relates to a device intended to provide the

différentes espèces de moustiques des surfaces de ponte, à collecter les oeufs et à empêcher les vecteurs qui naissent de rejoindre l'air libre.  different mosquito species from the nesting grounds, to collect the eggs and to prevent the vectors that are born from reaching the open air.

Until now, the means used to combat this plague are chemical or bacterial, it is ecological and natural The innovation lies in the fact that the device is an integral part of a standard cap for packing any beverages for allow its widespread implementation. To turn the packaging into a trap, it suffices to: a) cut out according to dotted lines drawn on the upper part of the body thereof. b) - turn and screw the cap on the neck so as to put in place the device itself provided with a thread (1) and a projection (2) so that the neck does not obstruct the slots. c) - fit the two cut parts to obtain a funnel and fill the trap with water by completely immersing the device.

The device according to the invention comprises a totally immersed central cone (3) whose apex is directed upwards, the slope of the wall of the cone being in the bottom plane of discontinuous slots (4) whose thickness is between 0.3 and 0.35 millimeters. Eggs laid on the surface of the trap and with a diameter not exceeding 0.01 millimeters slide along the wall of the cone by gravitation and fall into the body of the trap. The larvae that can be born in the upper part of the trap can only pass through the slots caused by the gravitation and their mobility when they hatch because their size remains tiny. The mosquito remains in the larval state for a period of one to three weeks. For two to three days, the larvae that hatch are confined to the bottom of the container, the rapidity of their growth (they double in size each day) prevents them from passing through the slots once they start to swim. Given the type of swimming of the larvae (descents more and more active to feed during their growth, rising more and more passive and even without any movement before the metamorphosis), the effectiveness of the trap is total. This system prevents the larvae during their ascent to join the open surface and condemns them from their metamorphosis to die in the trap, the corpses are immediately eaten by the still alive larvae. From then on, it is conceivable to equip plastic packaging with such a device that would transform it once empty into another very useful product.

From the point of view of manufacturing, the only modification of a standard cap is sufficient, the body of most packaging already having the profile required if the nesting of the two parts is tight. For effective control, the traps are emptied on a dry surface and cleaned every 15 days (protect themselves during this operation). 40
