Abstract

Un composant fémoral (1) pour prothèse de hanche comprend une tige (2) munie d'un col amovible (7), ladite tige (2) étant susceptible d'être logée dans le canal fémoral d'un patient, sa particularité consistant en ce que ladite tige (2) présente une première conicité suivant un axe longitudinal (3) de ladite tige (2) et une deuxième conicité suivant un axe transversal de ladite tige (2), orthogonal audit axe longitudinal (3).

La présente invention concerne un composant fémoral 5 pour prothèses de hanche, pour une implantation sans ciment Comme cela est connu, des prothèses de hanche comprennent généralement un composant fémoral qui est destiné à être inséré, après avoir effectué la réinsertion de la tête du fémur, à l'intérieur du fémur lui-même, dans le canal fémoral, et à s'accoupler, par l'intermédiaire de sa tête sphérique, dans un cotyle, qui est lui-même inséré dans l'os du bassin, de façon à remplacer ainsi l'articulation entre le fémur et le bassin.
Le composant fémoral est constitué par une tige effilée dont la partie proximale, à savoir la partie destinée à être accouplée, par l'intermédiaire d'un col amovible, avec le cotyle, à une région de section accrue 2868690 2 par rapport à celle de la partie distale, de façon à bloquer le composant fémoral dans le canal fémoral.
Etant que donné que, cependant, les canaux fémoraux varient d'un patient à l'autre, et qu'ils peuvent être de type sensiblement droit ou de type évasé vers le haut, il arrive que l'insertion de la tige dans le canal fémoral produise des effets différents en fonction du type de canal dans lequel est insérée la tige.
Les tiges actuellement connues sont généralement conformées de façon à être insérées dans le canal fémoral, et à se loger, en correspondance avec leur partie proximale, dans le canal, en s'appuyant dans ce dernier en correspondance avec quatre coins correspondant sensiblement aux sommets de la section rectangulaire du composant fémoral, et en s'étendant finalement dans le canal, en s'appuyant le long de toute l'étendue du canal lui-même.
Cette conformation fait que les sollicitations qui sont communiquées au composant fémoral peuvent être transmises tout le long du canal, et s'avérer par conséquent nuisibles.
Le but principal de la présente invention est de réaliser un composant fémoral pour prothèse de hanche, qui soit conformé de façon à répartir les forces de sollicitation sur le composant fémoral uniquement en correspondance avec sa partie proximale, dans le canal fémoral.
Dans l'étendue de ce but, un objet de la présente invention est de réaliser un composant fémoral pour prothèse de hanche, dans lequel la répartition des sollicitations transmises à la partie proximale du composant fémoral sont réparties de façon uniforme le long de la région proximale du canal fémoral, en correspondance avec la région dans laquelle la partie proximale du composant fémoral s'engage dans le canal fémoral lui-même.
2868690 3 Un autre objet de la présente invention est de réaliser un composant fémoral pour prothèse de hanche qui permette d'être inséré dans le canal fémoral sans l'aide de ciment.
Un objet, qui n'est pas le moindre, de la présente invention, est de réaliser un composant fémoral pour prothèses de hanche, qui soit de haute fiabilité, de réalisation relativement simple, et à des coûts compétitifs.
Ce but, ainsi que ces objets, et d'autres qui apparaîtront mieux par la suite, sont atteints par un composant fémoral pour prothèse de hanche, comprenant une tige munie d'un col amovible, ladite tige étant susceptible d'être logée dans le canal fémoral d'un patient, caractérisé en ce que ladite tige présente une première conicité suivant un axe longitudinal de ladite tige et une deuxième conicité suivant un axe transversal de ladite tige, orthogonal audit axe longitudinal.
D'autres caractéristiques et avantages de l'invention ressortiront principalement de la description d'une forme de réalisation préférée, mais non exclusive, du composant fémoral selon l'invention, illustrée à titre indicatif, et non limitatif, dans les dessins joints, dans lesquels: la figure 1 illustre en vue en élévation de face le composant fémoral selon la présente invention; la figure 2 illustre en vue en perspective le composant fémoral selon la présente invention; la figure 3 illustre en vue en plan de dessus le composant fémoral selon la présente invention; et la figure 4 illustre en vue en plan de dessous le composant fémoral selon la présente invention.
Si l'on se réfère aux figures, le composant fémoral selon l'invention, globalement indiqué par le chiffre de référence 1, comprend une tige 2 munie en son sommet d'un 35 col amovible 7, et conformée de façon appropriée de façon 2868690 4 à comporter une première conicité suivant un axe longitudinal 3 de la tige, et une deuxième conicité suivant un axe transversal 4 de la tige. De façon appropriée, la tige 2 présente une troisième conicité en correspondance avec la région médiane latérale, et, comme illustré en figure 4, cette conicité comprend la surface de la tige qui est munie d'une pluralité d'ailettes antirotation 5, lesquelles sont disposées de façon appropriée selon un certain angle par rapport à l'axe longitudinal 3 de la tige 2.
Les ailettes 5, qui permettent un meilleur accrochage de la tige 2 dans le canal fémoral, sont réalisées avec un effilement croissant vers l'extrémité distale de la tige 2. En substance, les ailettes 5 présentent une largeur maximale en correspondance avec la partie proximale de la tige 2, se rétrécissant le long de l'axe longitudinal de la tige.
Comme indiqué précédemment, les ailettes anti-rotation 5 présentent un certain angle par rapport à l'axe longitudinal 3 de la tige 2, et, en particulier, elles sont orientées vers le côté 6 de la tige opposé à la région dans laquelle est disposé le col amovible 7 de la tige.
La solution proposée ci-dessus permet à la tige de se loger dans le canal fémoral en s'appuyant sur la totalité de la circonférence du canal, uniquement en correspondance avec la partie proximale de la tige, sensiblement identifiée comme étant la région de la tige comprenant les ailettes anti-rotation 5. Par conséquent, la tige s'appuie circonférentiellement le long de la région proximale du canal fémoral, laissant l'extrémité distale de la tige libérée des parois du canal fémoral, à savoir qu'il reste un espace d'air autour des parois de la région centrale et distale de la tige, du fait de la conicité décrite cidessus, de telle sorte que les parois du canal fémoral ne 2868690 5 viennent pas en contact avec la tige.
Ceci permet aux forces de sollicitation qui peuvent être créées sur la tige d'être réparties uniquement en correspondance avec la région proximale, libérant complètement les parois du canal fémoral, contrairement à ce qui se produit avec la technique existante.
Dans la pratique, on constate que le composant fémoral selon la présente invention atteint pleinement le but et les objets indiqués précédemment, du fait qu'il lui est possible d'être logé dans le canal fémoral en venant en contact avec ce dernier uniquement en correspondance avec sa région proximale, avec les avantages en ce qui concerne la répartition des sollicitations.
Le composant fémoral ainsi conçu est susceptible de subir de nombreuses modifications et variantes, rentrant toutes à l'intérieur de l'étendue du concept inventif; en outre, tous les détails pourront être remplacés par d'autres éléments techniquement équivalents. Dans la pratique, les matériaux employés, ainsi que les dimensions et les formes contingentes, pourront être quelconques en fonction des exigences et de l'état de la technique.

Claims (5)

REVENDICATIONS
1. Composant fémoral (1) pour prothèse de hanche, comprenant une tige (2) munie d'un col amovible (7), ladite tige (2) étant susceptible d'être logée dans le canal fémoral d'un patient, caractérisé en ce que ladite tige (2) présente une première conicité suivant un axe longitudinal (3) de ladite tige (2) et une deuxième conicité suivant un axe transversal (4) de ladite tige (2), orthogonal audit axe longitudinal (3).
2. Composant fémoral (1) selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ladite tige (2) comprend une troisième conicité définie dans un plan médian latéral de ladite tige (2).
3. Composant fémoral (1) selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ladite tige (2) est munie, en correspondance avec sa partie proximale, d'une pluralité d'ailettes anti-rotation (5), lesdites ailettes (5) faisant un certain angle par rapport à l'axe longitudinal (3) de ladite tige (2).
4. Composant fémoral (1) selon l'une ou plusieurs des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que lesdites ailettes (5) sont orientées vers le coté (6) de ladite tige opposé à la région dans laquelle est disposé ledit col amovible (7).
5. Composant fémoral (1) selon l'une ou plusieurs des revendications précédentes, caractérisé en ce que lesdites ailettes (5) ont une largeur maximale en correspondance avec la partie proximale de ladite tige (2), et se rétrécissent le long de leur étendue sensiblement en correspondance avec l'axe longitudinal (3) de ladite tige (2).
