Abstract

La présente invention concerne un groupe motopropulseur pour véhicule automobile.Le groupe motopropulseur est caractérisé en ce que le carter de distribution (8) est fixé entre le carter du moteur thermique (1) et le carter d'embrayage (2), et la chaîne de distribution (5) est montée sur quatre pignons logés dans le carter de distribution (8), deux des pignons (9, 10) étant solidaires respectivement de l'arbre vilebrequin (6) et de l'arbre à cames (7) auquel est accouplé coaxialement le rotor (12) de la machine électrique (4), les deux autres pignons étant montés fous et faisant partie du tendeur de la chaîne de distribution (5). L'invention trouve application dans le domaine de l'automobile.

La présente invention concerne un groupe motopropulseur pour véhicule automobile.
Un tel groupe motopropulseur est essentiellement constitué d'un moteur à combustion interne ; d'un embrayage et d'une boîte de vitesses logés dans leurs carters respectifs ; de deux machines électriques tournantes pour le démarrage électrique du moteur thermique et la génération électrique de courant ; et d'une chaîne de distribution avec tendeur entraînant, par l'arbre vilebrequin du moteur thermique, notamment l'arbre à cames de ce moteur.
Dans des applications récentes, les deux machines électriques sont réunies en une seule machine formant alternateur-démarreur souvent placée en position coaxiale avec le moteur thermique et la boîte de vitesses, dès que la puissance devient importante. Il est ainsi possible de réaliser les fonctions arrêt et démarrage, un mode de récupération d'énergie au freinage et de disposer d'une puissance électrique plus importante qu'avec le premier système mentionné précédemment.
La chaîne de distribution est logée dans un carter du moteur à l'opposé des carters d'embrayage et de boîte de vitesses du véhicule et la machine électrique est généralement fixée à l'opposé, dans le carter d'embrayage de la boîte de vitesses et a son rotor lié cinématiquement à l'arbre vilebrequin du moteur thermique en position coaxiale.
Une telle architecture connue a pour inconvénients majeurs d'occasionner un encombrement en longueur du groupe motopropulseur et d'être relativement peu compacte.
La présente invention a pour but d'éliminer les inconvénients ci-dessus en proposant un groupe motopropulseur pour véhicule automobile, comprenant essentiellement un moteur à combustion interne ; un embrayage et une boîte de vitesses logés dans leurs carters respectifs ; une machine électrique tournante

réversible placée en bout de l'arbre à cames au-dessus de la boîte de vitesses et pouvant fonctionner en plusieurs modes comprenant notamment un mode de démarrage électrique du moteur, et un mode générateur électrique ; et une chaîne de distribution avec tendeur entraînant par l'arbre vilebrequin du moteur thermique notamment l'arbre à cames de ce moteur et logée dans un carter, et qui est caractérisé en ce que le carter de logement de la chaîne de distribution est fixé de façon étanche entre le carter du moteur thermique et le carter d'embrayage, et la chaîne de distribution est montée sur quatre pignons logés dans le carter de distribution, deux des pignons étant solidaires respectivement de l'arbre vilebrequine et de l'arbre à cames auquel est accouplé coaxialement le rotor de la machine électrique, et les deux autres pignons étant montés fous et faisant partie du tendeur de la chaîne de distribution.
Les dispositifs tendeurs classiques ont l'inconvénient d'être sensibles au sens du couple et donc, dans le cas de l'installation de la machine électrique qui peut avoir des modes moteur ou générateur, de provoquer un décalage de l'arbre à cames.
Le tendeur de chaîne conforme à l'invention est insensible aux variations du couple.
Ainsi, le tendeur de la chaîne de distribution comprend quatre bras définissant un parallèlogramme déformable logés dans le carter de distribution entre l'arbre vilebrequin et l'arbre à cames, l'une des articulations de deux bras adjacents du parallèlogramme étant fixée sur le carter moteur, les axes d'articulation des deux bras opposés du parallèlogramme portant les pignons fous sur lesquels engrène la chaîne de distribution, l'articulation restante des bras du parallèlogramme étant reliée à un organe exerçant constamment sur les bras articulés du parallèlogramme un effort de déformation de ce dernier dans un sens provoquant une tension permanente de la chaîne de

distribution égale de chaque côté des bras opposés et sans effet sur la position relative des pignons.
Avantageusement, l'organe précité comprend un vérin dont le corps est solidaire du carter de distribution et la tige est reliée à l'articulation restante correspondante des bras du parallèlogramme, le piston du vérin étant soumis par un moyen à un effort de poussée exerçant par la tige de vérin un effort de déformation du parallèlogramme.
Selon une première variante de réalisation, le moyen exerçant l'effort de poussée est un ressort hélicoïdal monté précontraint entre le piston et le cylindre du vérin.
Selon une autre variante de réalisation, le moyen exerçant l'effort de poussée est un fluide hydraulique sous pression dont la pression est asservie à la valeur de tension de la chaîne d'entraînement.
L'invention sera mieux comprise, et d'autres buts, caractéristiques, détails et avantages de celle-ci apparaîtront plus clairement au cours de la description explicative qui va suivre faite en référence aux dessins schématiques annexés donnés uniquement à titre d'exemple illustrant un mode de réalisation de l'invention et dans lesquels : - la figure 1 est une vue de côté d'un groupe motopropulseur pour véhicule automobile conforme à l'invention ; et - la figure 2 représente un mode de réalisation préféré d'un dispositif tendeur de la chaîne de distribution du groupe motopropulseur de la figure 1.
En se reportant tout d'abord à la figure 1, le groupe motopropulseur pour véhicule automobile comprend essentiellement un moteur à combustion interne 1, un carter 2 dans lequel est logé l'embrayage du véhicule, un carter 3 de boîte de vitesses solidaire du carter d'embrayage 2 en prolongement de celui-ci, l'embrayage et la boîte de vitesses étant classiques.

La référence 4 désigne une machine électrique tournante qui peut être un simple alternateur ou un alternateur-démarreur réversible pouvant fonctionner en un moteur de démarrage électrique du moteur thermique, en un générateur électrique ou en un moteur de traction électrique en complément du moteur thermique auquel il est toujours lié.
La machine électrique 4 est fixée au groupe motopropulseur du véhicule.
Selon l'invention, la distribution à chaîne d'entraînement 5 par l'arbre vilebrequin 6 du moteur thermique 1 de l'arbre à cames 7 est logée dans un carter de distribution 8 fixé de façon étanche entre le carter du moteur 1 et le carter d'embrayage 2.
La chaîne de distribution 5 est montée en engrènement sur quatre pignons dont deux 9,10, sont solidaires respectivement de l'arbre vilebrequin 6 et de l'arbre à cames 7 accouplé coaxialement au rotor 12 de la machine électrique 4, en étant logés dans le carter de distribution 8 contenant de l'huile de lubrification.
Ainsi, les quatre pignons sont situés dans un même plan transversal à l'arbre vilebrequin 6 du moteur 1 et avec l'emplacement de ce carter entre le moteur thermique 1 et le carter d'embrayage 2, une telle architecture permet de diminuer l'encombrement en longueur du groupe motopropulseur et de le rendre plus compact.
La machine électrique 4 peut être fixée au groupe motopropulseur du même côté de l'ensemble à carters d'embrayage et de boîte de vitesses par rapport au carter de distribution 8.
La figure 2 représente un mode de réalisation préféré d'un dispositif tendeur de la chaîne de distribution 5.
Ce dispositif comprend quatre bras 13,14, 15,16 définissant un parallèlogramme déformable, logés dans le carter de distribution 8 entre l'arbre vilebrequin 6 et l'arbre à cames 7.

L'articulation Al des deux bras adjacents 13,14 du parallèlogramme porte l'un 11 des deux autres pignons qui sont montés fous.
L'axe d'articulation A2 des deux bras opposés 15, 16 du parallèlogramme porte le quatrième pignon 17 monté fou sur cet axe et sur lequel engrène la chaîne de distribution 5.
L'une A3 des deux autres articulations restantes des bras 14,15 du parallèlogramme est reliée à un organe 18 exerçant constamment sur les deux bras adjacents articulés 14,15 un effort de déformation du parallèlogramme dans un sens provoquant une tension permanente de la chaîne de distribution 5 de façon à rééquilibrer cette chaîne quand elle s'allonge lors du fonctionnement du groupe motopropulseur. L'articulation restante A4 des deux bras adjacents 13,16 est fixée au carter 8. Ainsi, la tension exercée sur la chaîne de distribution 5 est égale de chaque côté des bras 13,16 ; 14,15 sans provoquer de décalage du pignon 10 d'arbre à cames 7 par rapport au pignon 9 de l'arbre vilebrequin 9.
De préférence, l'organe 18 est constitué par un vérin dont le corps 19 est solidaire, par tout moyen approprié, du carter de distribution 8 et la tige 20 est reliée à l'articulation A3, le piston 21 du vérin 18 étant soumis par un moyen, qui va être défini, à un effort de poussée exerçant par la tige de vérin 20 l'effort de déformation du parallèlogramme à bras 13 à 16.
Comme représenté en figure 2, le moyen exerçant cet effort de poussée est constitué par un ressort hélicoïdal 22 monté précontraint entre le piston 21 et la paroi de fond 19a du cylindre de vérin 19.
Selon une variante de réalisation, ce moyen peut être un fluide hydraulique sous pression acheminé dans la chambre de travail du vérin 18 et dont la pression de fluide peut être asservie à la valeur de tension de la

chaîne de distribution 5 mesurée par un détecteur approprié.
Bien entendu, d'autres dispositifs tendeurs de chaîne peuvent être utilisés à la place de celui qui vient d'être décrit ci-dessus.
L'invention ci-dessus décrite peut également s'appliquer pour l'entraînement des deux arbres à cames, auquel cas la chaîne de distribution passerait sur les deux pignons solidaires respectivement des deux arbres à cames.
Par extension, l'invention peut s'appliquer à l'entraînement de deux arbres pour lesquels il ne peut être toléré de déphasage suivant le sens du mouvement.

Claims (5)

REVENDICATIONS
1. Groupe motopropulseur pour véhicule automobile, comprenant essentiellement un moteur à combustion interne (1) ; un embrayage et une boîte de vitesses logés dans leurs carters respectifs (2,3) ; une machine électrique tournante réversible (4) pouvant fonctionner en plusieurs modes comprenant notamment un mode de démarrage électrique du moteur thermique (1), un mode de générateur électrique et un mode de traction électrique du véhicule ; et une chaîne de distribution (5) avec tendeur entraînant par l'arbre vilebrequin (6) du moteur thermique (1) notamment l'arbre à cames (7) de ce moteur et logée dans un carter (8) ; caractérisé en ce que le carter de distribution (8) est fixé de façon étanche entre le carter du moteur thermique (1) et le carter d'embrayage (2) et la chaîne de distribution (5) est montée sur quatre pignons (9,10, 11, 17) logés dans le carter de distribution (8), deux des pignons (9,10) étant solidaires respectivement de l'arbre vilebrequin (6) et de l'arbre à cames (7) auquel est accouplé coaxialement le rotor (12) de la machine électrique (4), et les deux autres pignons (11,17) étant montés fous et faisant partie du tendeur de la chaîne de distribution (5).
2. Groupe motopropulseur selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que le tendeur de la chaîne de distribution (5) comprend quatre bras (13-16) définissant un parallélogramme déformable logés dans le carter de distribution (8) entre l'arbre vilebrequin (6) et l'arbre à cames (7), l'une (A4) des articulations de deux bras adjacents (13,16) du parallélogramme étant fixée sur le carter moteur, les axes d'articulation (A1, A2) des deux bras opposés (13,14 ; 15, 16) du parallélogramme portant les pignons fous (11,17) sur lesquels engrène la chaîne de distribution (5), l'articulation restante (A3) des bras (14,15) du

parallélogramme étant reliée à un organe (18) exerçant constamment sur les bras articulés (13-16) du parallélogramme un effort de déformation de ce dernier dans un sens provoquant une tension permanente de la chaîne de distribution (5) sans effet sur la position relative des pignons (9,10).

Groupe motopropulseur selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que l'organe précité comprend un vérin (18) dont le corps (19) est solidaire du carter de distribution (8) et la tige (20) est reliée à l'articulation restante correspondante (A3) des bras (14, 15) du parallélogramme, le piston (21) du vérin (18) étant soumis par un moyen à un effort de poussée exerçant par la tige de vérin (20) l'effort de déformation du parallélogramme.
4. Groupe motopropulseur selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que le moyen exerçant l'effort de poussée est un ressort hélicoïdal (22) monté précontraint entre le piston (21) et le cylindre (19) du vérin (18).
5. Groupe motopropulseur selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que le moyen exerçant l'effort de poussée est un fluide hydraulique sous pression dont la pression est asservie à la valeur de tension de la chaîne de distribution (5).
