Abstract

The label and detection device comprise a tag which may be attached to goods in order to prevent theft, the label being detected when it passes near to a detector. The device includes a label (22) attached to a strap (1) which is flexible and provided with a series of indentations (11) along one face. The base of the label includes a slotted section (3) into which the end of the strap may be inserted, with a detent type mechanism designed to engage the indentations of the strap. Within the label there is a space suitable for a label device which can be detected. This may be attached by a clip fitting, by gluing or by ultrasound welding of the material. The label may be detected by one of several known techniques as it passes near to a detector, thus preventing theft of the goods to which the label is attached.
