Abstract

The gate or door consists of one or more panels (1-C, 1-D) which open horizontally, each being equipped with a triangular flap (5-C, 5-D) on its lower edge, equipped with rollers (7-D). As the gate is opened, the flap folds about its hinged line, leaving a sloping lower edge which fits the slope of the ground. When the gate is closed the flap returns to its initial position, filling the space between the gate and the ground.

Description

Gate or door leaf adaptable on sloping ground
The present invention relates to gate or door leaves, pivoting horizontally, usable in the case of mounting on sloping ground and opening in the direction of the latter
We currently know three variants of gates or doors, generally consisting of two leaves, usable on sloping ground:
1) with leaves having hinges ensuring their elevation, progressive as and when they open, on the inclined part of the ground in a vertical position parallel to the slope of the latter
In the open position the leaves of this first form of portal or door have the disadvantage of an unattractive position
2) with leaves comprising an upper hinge and a lower articulation ensuring their inclination, progressive as and when they open, on the sloping part of the ground in an inclined position parallel to said slope
In the open position the leaves of this second form of portal or door have on the one hand an unattractive inclination and on the other hand the disadvantage of reducing the clearance between said leaves
3) with leaves comprising (according to French Patent No. 77 13142) a hinge and tilt device ensuring their inclination, progressive as and when they open, on the sloping part of the ground in a vertical position parallel to said slope
In the open position the leaves of this third form of portal or door also have the disadvantage of an unattractive position.

Les dessins annexés,donnés à titre d'exemples non limitatifs de réalisations de la présente invention, permettront de mieux comprendre l'invention, les caractéristiques qu'elle présente et les avantages qu'elle est susceptible d'apporter au plan esthétique et pratique;
To overcome these various drawbacks, the invention relates to a leaf of the type in question, usable on land having a more or less significant slope, which, in the closed position, ensures the complete closure of the passage while retaining, in the open position, a perfectly vertical plane which allows, in one of two possible modes of use, to free the entire area of said passage. This leaf, generally associated with another between two fixed supports, to ensure the closure of a passage into which leads to a sloping ground is characterized in that it comprises, in its lower part, a skirt which fades as and as it opens in the direction of the slope of the ground. Said skirt, which has a triangular profile, is associated freely with pivoting with the lower side of the leaves and is provided, according to a preferred embodiment, with rollers for supporting the ground. During the opening of said leaves it progressively passes from a vertical position to another horizontal, so that the lower side of said leaves perfectly matches the profile of the slope of the terrain. When said leaves are in the open position, according to a first mode of use, their skirt remains in this horizontal position, which obviously assumes that the width of the passage is large enough to allow it, and, according to a second mode of 'use, their skirt is raised and then pressed against the external face of said leaves to allow maximum clearance of the passage particularly when it is reduced
According to an alternative embodiment, said skirt is not provided with support rollers at 801 which obliges the user to raise it and press it against the wall of the leaf as soon as the opening of the latter begins.
The accompanying drawings, given by way of nonlimiting examples of embodiments of the present invention, will make it possible to better understand the invention, the characteristics which it presents and the advantages which it is capable of bringing to the aesthetic and practical level;
Drawings in which
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a gate with two leaves, according to the invention, positioned between two pillars. One of said leaves is shown in the open position, according to a first mode of use, while the other is closed
Figure 2 is a view identical to 1 of a second embodiment and a second mode of use of said leaves
In Figure 1 there is shown, according to a first embodiment, a gate consisting of two shutters 1-A and 1-B. associated, in a rotary manner, with two pillars 2-A and 2-B delimiting a passage 3-A into which opens a sloping ground 4-A. Said leaves comprising res pectivementni.une-skirt 5-A and 5-B associated free pivoting by hinges A and 6-B at the lower sides of said leaves. Said hinges authorizing this pivoting of said skirts only in the opposite direction to that of the opening of said leaves
In this figure the skirt 5-A, of the leaf 1-A which is closed, is naturally in a vertical closed position while the skirt 5-B, hard-wing 1-B which is open, is it naturally in a position , horizontal opening, parallel to the slope of the terrain 4-A
The reversal of these two positions, vertical to horizontal when the leaf 1-A is open and horizontal to vertical when the leaf 1-B is closed is automatically and gradually achieved as we print to said leaves an opening or closing thrust, thanks on the one hand to the hinges 6-A and 6-B which allow the pivoting of said skirts 5-A and 5-B and on the other hand to the rollers 7-A and- 7-B-- which favor their movement on the slope of the terrain 4-A
In FIG. 2 is shown another portal made up of two solid leaves 1-C and 1-D comprising respectively a solid skirt 5-C without roller and a 5-D with rollers
In this figure, the skirt 5-C of the leaf 1-C is also naturally in a vertical closed position while the skirt 5-D of the leaf 1-D has been raised while it was in a horizontal position. and pressed against the wall of the wing lD to free the area of passage 3-B as much as possible. The opening of said leaf 1-C is carried out by raising and pressing on its outer wall the skirt 5-C from the start of its opening while the closing of the leaf 1-D is obtained by folding its skirt 5-D from here initiation of its closure or just before its complete closure. This pivoting of the skirt 5-A, 5-B, 5-C and 5-D has the advantage of being able to use the leaf 1-A, 1-B, 1-C- and 1-D on all the profiles of sloping land. In fact, a wing, comprising a skirt suitable for closing a passage into which opens a terrain having a slope of a maximum level (X), can be used for closing all passages into which opens a terrain having a slope of any level less than (X). Said skirt automatically adapting to the slope of the terrain
The assembly of the skirt 5-A-, 5-B, 5-C and 5-D with the leaf 1-A, 1-B, 1-C and ID, in the closed position, is carried out using the means existing lock, for example, a lock secured to said leaf, the bolt of which engages in keeper 8A fixed on said skirt (FIG: 2)
Keeping the leaves in the closed and open position using the means usually used for conventional gates or doors
