Abstract

L'agencement consiste en une pluralité de cellules unitaires disposées les unes à la suite des autres, dans lequel chacune de ces cellules unitaires comporte une chambre à anolyte et une chambre à catholyte ainsi qu'un diaphragme disposé entre ces chambres, et est séparée des cellules adjacentes par des parois de cellules imperméables, dénommées tôles bipolaires. La chambre à anolyte et la chambre à catholyte sont séparées l'une de l'autre par une couche composite électrode-diaphragme-électrode 2, une structure d'appui rigide et plane est formée par frittage ou soudage de la tôle bipolaire 1, d'un réseau ondulé 4 et de la tôle perforée 4 et la couche composite 2 est pressée contre une tôle perforée 3 au moyen d'un élément flexible 5, électriquement conducteur et disposé du côté cathode entre la couche composite 2 et la tôle bipolaire 1 la plus proche.
