Abstract
"SISTEMA ELETROQUìMICO". é um objetivo da presente invenção prover uma montagem de célula melhorada que reduz ou elimina vazamento de fluido. A invenção provê um eletrolisador, particularmente, do tipo de MSE ou SSE, em que as estruturas de circulação (38, 40) se estendem além das bordas dos portadores de corrente metálicos (110) tal que uma estrutura de circulação e/ou gaxeta de uma primeira célula é formada de um material elastomérico compatível com o material elastomérico de uma estrutura de circulação e/ou gaxeta de uma segunda célula adjacente, em que primeira e segunda células incluem uma pilha de célula ou bloco de células; e em que as estruturas de circulação se estendem além das bordas dos portadores de corrente metálicos, por meio de que as estruturas de circulação podem ser unidas diretamente a separadores não metálicos adjacentes (36). Assim, a primeira e segunda células podem ser unidas diretamente juntas sem estrutura metálica/não metálica portadora de corrente intervindo em bordas limítrofes. Isto elimina a necessidade de prover gaxetas neste limite. Esta invenção habilita um bloco de célula inteiro ser encapsulado adequadamente com material elastomérico para fazer as bordas do bloco serem herméticas e estanques a vazamento para ambos gases O~ 2^ e H^ 2^ e eletrólito.
