Description

DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Noise barrier for traffic lanes
The present invention relates to noise barriers and, more particularly, precast concrete screens, used to attenuate harmful noise coming from traffic lanes. Existing concrete noise barriers generally consist of horizontal slabs which are slid into posts previously sealed in the ground.

The absorption of noise from traffic lanes is often very insufficient.

The aim of the present invention is to improve the performance of the acoustic damping of noise barriers, as well as to increase their stability and to facilitate their installation.

To this end, the noise barrier, object of the invention, consists of an inclined wall, provided with a cap, the side of the wall subject to the noise source being at least partially covered by an acoustic damping element. .

Another object of the invention is to provide a noise barrier which is completely self-supporting.

l'invention;
In order to better understand the invention, a practical embodiment example will be described below using the attached drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a vertical section of a noise barrier according to
the invention;
Figure 2 is a partial longitudinal section along line A
A of Figure 1; Figure 3 is a vertical section of a noise barrier according to
an alternative embodiment of the invention.

According to FIG. 1, the noise barrier consists of a wall 10 intended to be disposed in an inclined manner with respect to the ground 20. In fact, the wall 10 is inclined towards the noise source in order to fold it down towards the ground and not to reverberate it above the noise barrier opposite, thus avoiding disturbing other residents.

At an appropriate distance and from the side forming an obtuse angle with the level of the ground, the wall 10 is provided with stiffeners 12 arranged vertically, integral with the wall 10 and capable of projecting downward in order to create embedding posts 14.

On the opposite side, the wall 10 is provided with a support 16 and, at its upper end, the wall is provided with a cap 18 projecting on either side of the wall 10. The cap 18 projects more on the side of the source of noise in order to minimize the reverberation of tangent noise.

According to the invention, there is between the support 16 and the cap 18 one or more elements 30 capable of damping and absorbing noise.

As can be seen in FIG. 2, the elements 30 are advantageously structured by grooves 32, in order to create an improved damping surface against noise.

The stiffeners 12 can be of variable shape and dimensions according to the requirements of rigidity or aesthetics.

A great advantage of the noise barrier according to the invention consists in the fact that it is completely self-supporting.

The wall 10 can optionally be provided with a concrete sole 46 which makes it stable without any other foundation, as shown in FIG. 3.

This Figure 3 shows an alternative embodiment of a noise barrier according to the invention. Indeed, the wall 40, as well as the stiffeners 42, are produced in a curved form towards the noise source, also for reducing the noises towards the ground.

Preferably, the curvature is elliptical and is studied as a function of two sources of noise originating from the two directions of circulation.

The support 16 is slightly more developed so as to create a void or hollow space 44 behind the acoustic damping elements 30 to further increase its performance. As already mentioned, the wall 40 is provided downwards with a sole 46.

The acoustic damping elements 30 can be made of any suitable material to absorb noise such as concrete-wood (mixture of cement and wood pellets), argex, glass wool, etc. The shape and composition of these elements are adapted to the spectrum of specific frequencies of the traffic lane.

The load-bearing wall can be made of reinforced concrete or of prestressed concrete to have better resistance to the movement of sudden air caused, for example, by large trucks or by high-speed trains.

The dimensions and shapes of the wall can be studied according to the achievements of architect-urban planners, since concrete is a material that can be poured in any desired shape so as to adapt it to the case studied.
