Abstract

The cycle pedal gear enables the pedal cranks to extend, augmenting cycling effort. The cranks (5) slide in guide sleeves (4), fixed to the pedal crank rotational axis. The cranks may thus vary in length, applying differing leverage to the crank axis. A circular crown rail (7) may be positioned with its centre 7 cm in front of the crank axis. The crown rail may be 34 cm diameter, fixed to the cycle frame by two collars (1). Rollers (8) at pedal level (6) may roll on the rail, adjusting crank length, as pedals rotate. ADVANTAGE - Maximises cyclists effort, suiting the pedal crank length to the cyclists stature, for competition, pleasure or all terrain.

Description

= DESCRIPTION =
= DESCRIPTION =
A reflection on the possible means to maximize the output of effort transmitted by a cyclist to the progression of his bicycle auelquten is the use (competition, walk, all terrain ..,) led me to think that the extension cranks of the bottom bracket could provide an answer. This approach implies taking into account the morphological constraints of the user and therefore respecting a maximum diameter of 35 cm for the circle of rotation of the pedals.

To answer this difficulty, it should be noted that only the front half of the circle of rotation of the pedals ensured the transmission of the effort from the cyclist to the cycle itself.

Il.a3rarut then very indicated to lengthen the cranks in this sector, while respecting the maximum limit of 35cm for the rotation circle, and it is then that the design of sliding cranks seemed to be the solution to ensure the desired effect .

This design theory was concretized by the real elements of the complex described above and installed. on either side of the bicycle frame. Ge complex is made of metal (steel, aluminum, alloy ..,) and can stretch it in PVC

of the crankset. The diameter of this crown is
limited to 34 cm in order to respect the constraints
your user morphology. This neck
ronne serves as a rotation guide for the movement of
the pedal and is fixed to the frame by 2 clamps
(1 fig 1).

longueur d'application de la manivelle.
- A pulley holder (8 fig 2, and fig 14, 15, 16, 17)
connected to the crank (5 fig 2, and fig 9, 10, 11,
12) on the pedal (6 fig 2) rolls on
the previous rail (7: fg 2) and thus modulates the
length of application of the crank.

- L'une, (5 fig 4), à longueur d'application va-
riable par coulissement (fig 9 10, 11, 12).
b) - (fig 3 and 4) The combination of 2 cranks described belowX
- One, (5 fig 4), with application length will
sliding by sliding (fig 9 10, 11, 12).

- L'autre(9 fig 4) à longueur constant (fig 18)
- The other (9 fig 4) at constant length (fig 18)
about 17 cm, whose axis of rotation posi
tioned in front, in particular of 7 cm, that of the
crankset is fixed on a rider (2 fig 4)
secured to the frame of the bicycle.

Ces 2 manivelles sont reliées par une pédale
( fig 19 ).
These 2 cranks are connected by a pedal
(fig 19).

The different components of the above package are made in duplicate and placed on either side of the bicycle frame.
