Abstract

The system uses a control system actuated by an electrical press button which is located on the dashboard of the vehicle. The button is positioned close to the passengers and is connected to the electric or air operated servo system that is arranged in the female seat belt housing affixed to the seats or vehicle floor. Operation of the button releases all of the seat belts instantaneously. An automatic system may be included which releases the belts through operation of a shock detecting device. ADVANTAGE - Allows rapid release of seat belts after accident to release occupants in case of fire.
