Abstract

Device for automatic recovery of a (hypodermic) and biodegradable syringe needle after use. The invention relates to a device making it possible to recover the needle after use in the body of the syringe, as well as to break it down. It consists (of the [lacuna]) FIG. 1 having a first cylindrical syringe body with two openings (6 and 16), a second body, also cylindrical (FIG. 2) with its rubber end (FIG. 4) pierced at its centre and covered at its end by a thin diaphragm (7) then fixed onto the top of the body (11) (FIG. 2), the latter has, at its base, a second, larger opening (20) for accommodating all of the end-piece (needle) (FIG. 3) in its blister packaging, this end-piece comprising its needle (3) with its stop (5), its compressed plastic coil spring (3) as well as its "neutral and delay-action" biodegradable pellet (4), the latter being interposed between the compressed spring (3) allowing the needle (2) to pass through its centre, this needle abutting on the clip (5) which is fixed onto the needle (2), holding the assembly in the end-piece (1). The device according to the invention is particularly intended for recovering the needle in the syringe body. By "neutral and delay-action" biodegradable breakdown of the pellet (FIG. 5) (registered trademark), which, in contact with the liquid injected, softens and dissolves. When the spring is freed from the pressure of the pellet, the needle retracts automatically inside the tube (FIG. 2) and remains trapped.
